Wędrzyn[ˈvɛndʐɨn] (German:Wandern) is avillage in the administrative district ofGmina Sulęcin, withinSulęcin County,Lubusz Voivodeship, in western Poland.[1] It lies approximately 6 km (4 mi) east ofSulęcin, 34 km (21 mi) south of Gorzów Wielkopolski, and 59 km (37 mi) north of Zielona Góra.
The oldest known mention of the village comes from 1322 when local Polish DukeHenry IV the Faithful of thePiast dynasty granted it to theKnights Hospitaller.[2] Later on, the village fell toBrandenburg, theCzech Crown,Prussia andGermany in 1871, before being reintegrated with Poland after theWorld War II in 1945. In the 1930s, a military training ground was built nearby.[2]
