Within theframework of administrative divisions, thetown of Vuktyl is, together with fourrural-type settlement administrative territories (comprising ten rural localities), incorporated as thetown of republic significance of Vuktyl—an administrative unit with the status equal to that of thedistricts.[1] As amunicipal division, the town of republic significance of Vuktyl is incorporated asVuktyl Municipal District; the town of Vuktyl is incorporated within it asVuktyl Urban Settlement.[4] The four rural-type settlement administrative territories are incorporated into four rural settlements within the municipal district.[4]
