Vrishaketu (Sanskrit:वृषकेतु,romanized: Vṛṣaketu) is a character in theHinduSanskrit epicMahabharata. He is the son ofKarna andVrishali and the youngest of Karna's sons. Following the events of theKurukshetra War,Arjuna trains Vrishaketu, later making him the king ofAnga.
Vrishaketu was the youngest son ofKarna. He was the only son of Karna to survive theKurukshetra War. Once Karna's identity as the eldest son ofKunti was revealed, he was taken under the patronage of thePandavas and received the kingdom ofAnga. Before theashvamedha yajna ofYudhishthira, he took part inArjuna's battles against a number of kings.[1] Vrishaketu was an active participant in Yudhishthira'sashvamedha yajna, capturing King Anushalva of theChandravamsha dynasty.[2]
