Josimar José Évora Dias (born 3 June 1986), known asVozinha, is aCape Verdean professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forChaves.

He played for clubs in his country, Angola, Moldova, Portugal and Cyprus. A full international with over 50caps forCape Verde since 2012, he played at theAfrica Cup of Nations in2013,2015,2021 and2023

Club career

Born inMindelo on the island ofSão Vicente, Cape Verde, Vozinha began his career at localBatuque FC, playing for them until 2011 before moving to local city rivalsCS Mindelense. Following good showings with the club, he was signed byProgresso Associação do Sambizanga in Angola. He returned to Mindelense in 2013 and played in theSão Vicente Island League.[citation needed]

After a year atZimbru Chișinău in Moldova, Vozinha moved in August 2016 toGil Vicente of thePortuguese second tier.[2]

International career

Vozinha made his debut forCape Verde on 8 September 2012 in a2013 Africa Cup of Nationsplayoff first leg at home toCameroon, a 2–0 win.[3] He remained in goal for the second leg inYaoundé on 14 October, a 2–1 loss that saw his country qualify for their first major tournament.[4] At the finals in South Africa, the team reached the quarter-finals before a 2–0 loss toGhana; he conceded the second goal after going up the pitch in the dying seconds to attack acorner kick.[5]

Vozinha also played at the2015 Africa Cup of Nations.[6] On 7 October 2020, he earned his 50th cap in a 2–1friendly win away toAndorra,[7] and a year later he was called up for the2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon.[8] Vozinha was called up to play at the2023 Africa Cup of Nations for Cape Verde.[9]

His younger brotherDelmiro was also a Cape Verde international.[10]
