Avoiced epiglottal affricate ([ʡ͜ʢ] inIPA) is a rareaffricate consonant that is initiated as anepiglottal stop[ʡ] and released as avoiced epiglottal fricative[ʢ]. It has not been reported to occurphonemically in any language.

Features of a voiced epiglottal affricate:

• Itsmanner of articulation isaffricate, which means it is produced by first stopping the airflow entirely, then allowing air flow through a constricted channel at the place of articulation, causing turbulence.
