Vladan Kovačević (Serbian Cyrillic:Владан Ковачевић,pronounced[ʋlǎdankoʋǎːtʃeʋitɕ]; born 11 April 1998) is a Bosnian professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forEFL Championship clubNorwich City.[1]
Kovačević started his professional career atSarajevo, who loaned him toSloboda Mrkonjić Grad in 2018.
Kovačević started playing football at his howetown clubŽeljezničar Banja Luka, before joiningSarajevo's youth academy in 2014.[2]
In February 2018, he was sent on a six-month loan toSloboda Mrkonjić Grad.[3] He made his professional debut againstKozara Gradiška on 17 March at the age of 19.[4]
In August, Kovačević signed a new five-year deal with Sarajevo.[5] On 5 August, he made his official debut for the team againstSloboda Tuzla.[6] He won his first title with the club on 15 May 2019, by beatingŠiroki Brijeg inBosnian Cup final.[7]

In June 2021, Kovačević was transferred to Polish outfitRaków Częstochowa for an undisclosed fee.[8] He made his competitive debut for the club in2021 Polish Super Cup game againstLegia Warsaw on 17 July and managed to win his first trophy.[9] A week later, he made his league debut againstPiast Gliwice.[10]
In July 2022, he extended his contract until June 2026.[11]
On 5 June 2024, reigningPrimeira Liga championsSporting CP announced the signing of Kovačević, for a reported fee of €6 million.[12] He signed a five-year contract, with abuyout clause of €60 million.[13] On 6 February 2025, he joined Ekstraklasa clubLegia Warsaw on loan until the end of the season.[14]
On 26 June 2025, Kovačević signed forEFL Championship clubNorwich City for an undisclosed fee.[15]
Kovačević was a member ofBosnia and Herzegovina under-21 team under coachVinko Marinović.[16]
In May 2019, he received his first senior Bosnia and Herzegovina call-up, forUEFA Euro 2020 qualifiers againstFinland andItaly, but did not debut.[17]
In February 2023, Kovačević accepted an invitation to theSerbia national team and was expected to make his debut in June.[18][19] However, according toFIFA eligibility rules, Kovačević can only play for theBosnia and Herzegovina national football team.[20][21]
Kovačević is aBosnian Serb. He married his long-time girlfriend Sofija in June 2022. Together they have two daughters named Zona and Sija.
