The Government of theCo-operative Republic of Guyana exempts visa requirements for nationals of specific countries or territories. All visitors must hold a passport valid for 6 months.

Visa exemption

Holders of passports (unless otherwise noted) of the following countries and territories do not need a visa to enter Guyana, for stays up to the duration listed below:[1]

Nationals of the following countries are exempt from obtaining a visa for stays of up to 90 days if they hold a valid visa issued byCanada, theUnited States or aSchengen member state.[1][8]

Visas are not required for nationals of any country with a document stating that they were born in Guyana, or for children under age 18 born to nationals of Guyana if holding a birth certificate or parents' passport.[8]

Visas are not required for holders of diplomatic, official and service passports ofBolivia,Georgia,Mexico,Peru andVenezuela; diplomatic, official and special passports ofBangladesh andHaiti; diplomatic and official passports ofGuatemala; diplomatic, service and special passports ofEgypt andTurkey; diplomatic, service and public affairs passports ofChina;[8] diplomatic and service passports ofCape Verde,Cyprus,India andIsrael; and diplomatic and special passports ofIran.[1]

Visa on arrival

Nationals of the following countries can obtain a visa on arrival:

Nationals of any country traveling as tourists with an approval letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs of Guyana can also obtain a visa on arrival for a stay of up to 30 days. They can also apply to extend their stay.[8]

Nationals of any country with a confirmation that a business, employment or student visa has been issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs of Guyana before departure can also obtain a visa on arrival.[8]

eVisa

According to Timatic, all other visitors that are not visa exempt can obtain an eVisa before departure.[10]
