Former director of the National Library of Venezuela
Virginia Betancourt Valverde (born 11 April 1935) is an author and former national library director. She served as Director of theNational Library of Venezuela (Instituto Autónomo Biblioteca Nacional).[1][2] She is the daughter ofRómulo Betancourt who served as president of Venezuela, was exiled, and then served again.

She wrote books about her family, efforts to free Cuban exiles imprisoned after the "Bay of Pigs" invasion attempting to overthrowFidel Castro,[3] and a book about libraries in Latin America.
