TheChurch of the Virgin of Mount Carmel and St. Thérèse of Lisieux (Spanish:Iglesia de la Virgen del Carmen y Santa Teresita), also known asIglesia de los Carmelitas, is aRoman Catholicparish church in the neighbourhood ofPrado, Montevideo,Uruguay.[2]
The church was built inNeo-Gothic style by architects Guillermo Armas and Albérico Isola,[3] between 1929 and 1954.[1] It was held by theCarmelites until 1995, then it was leased to the Archdiocese.[4] The church is dedicated toOur Lady of Mount Carmel andSaint Thérèse of Lisieux.[2]
The parish was established on 8 September 1962.[2]
