Viimsi Parish (Estonian:Viimsi vald) is a ruralmunicipality in NorthernEstonia, located North-East and neighbouring the capitalTallinn. It occupies an area of 72.84 km2 (28.12 sq mi)[2] with a population of 20 580 (As of 2019[update]).[3] The municipality contains theViimsi Peninsula and several islands, includingNaissaar,Prangli, andAksi.
The flag and coat of arms of Viimsi Parish were designed by the artistTõnis Soop.[4][5] The mayor of Viimsi Parish is Illar Lemetti.
There are twosmall boroughs (alevik) and 20 villages (küla) in Viimsi Parish.
