Victoria Rupes is anescarpment in theVictoria quadrangle ofMercury. The quadrangle was named after this escarpment, and the escarpment itself was named after theVictoria, a ship used on the famous expedition ofFerdinand Magellan. Its name was adopted by theInternational Astronomical Union (IAU) in 1976.[1]
The escarpment cuts acrossEnheduanna crater at its southern end and across an unnamed crater near its center.
