Vazhve Mayam (lit.'Life is an illusion') is a 1970 IndianMalayalam-language drama film directed byK. S. Sethumadhavan and written byThoppil Bhasi, based on the novel of the same name byP. Ayyaneth. It starsSathyan, and also featuresSheela,Sankaradi,K. P. Ummer,Bahadoor,Adoor Bhasi,K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Khadeeja,N. Govindan Kutty,Muthukulam Raghavan Pillai, C. A. Balan, Kuttan Pillai andPhilomina.

Sankarady won theKerala State Film Award for Second Best Actor for his performance in the film.[1] The film was screened as part of the Sathyan retrospective at the 17thInternational Film Festival of Kerala held atThiruvananthapuram.

Remakes

The movie was remade in Telugu asEdadugula Bandham (1985)[citation needed] and asAap Ki Kasam (1974) in Hindi.[3]
