Valproate pivoxil (Pivadin,Valproxen) is ananticonvulsant used in the treatment ofepilepsy.[1] It is thepivaloyloxymethylesterderivative ofvalproic acid.[2] It is likely aprodrug ofvalproic acid, as pivoxil esters are commonly employed to make prodrugs in medicinal chemistry.
