Valentin Abel (born 7 February 1991) is a German politician who served as aMember ofBundestag from the constituency ofSchwäbisch Hall – Hohenlohe from 2021 to 2025, as a member of theFree Democratic Party (FDP). Prior to his election to the Bundestag he was the president of theYoung Liberals inBaden-Württemberg and a FDP candidate in the2019 European Parliament election.

Early life and education

was born inKünzelsau,Baden-Württemberg, on 7 February 1991. His primary and secondary education was done inOsterburken. He was a volunteer for theGerman Red Cross from 2010 to 2011. From 2011 to 2014, he attended theUniversity of Mannheim, with a semester abroad at theUniversity of Edinburgh in 2013, and graduated with aBachelor of Business Administration. He attended the University of Mannheim from 2014 to 2016, with a semester abroad atMaastricht University in 2015, and graduated with aMaster of Business Administration.[1]

Career

From 2017 to 2021, Abel was the chair of theYoung Liberals in Baden-Württemberg.[1] In the2019 European Parliament election he was a candidate for theFree Democratic Party (FDP).[2]

In the2021 election Abel was elected to theBundestag from the constituency ofSchwäbisch Hall – Hohenlohe as the twelfth member of the FDP'selectoral list.[1][3] In the2025 election he was not reelected.[4] During Abel's tenure in the Bundestag he served on the Climate Protection and Energy, European Union Affairs,[1] and Transportation committees.[5]
