Your shamefull words "pot, kettle, black"

[edit]

The only reason why I did not revertSukhdev Singh Babbar yet, is because I could not get time to read your vandalized version. Regarding your comment: pot, kettle, black. - Remember I have never called you "hypocrite" even though.....Also Remember!

  • On one hand, you are trying to getHindu Taliban deleted And on the other, you shamelessly want to supportSikh extremism.
  • On One hand hand you want other editors to not to delete the text from the articles without discussion and on the other you do the same vandalism where you could get a chance.

Atleast those editors are better than you who believe in justice, who do not keep bias in their editing. If I opposedSikh extremism then I did not supportHindu Taliban either.

If other editors have started calling youUser: Hkelkar, it is NOT their fault. Maybe ..... --Singh6 (talk)05:07, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Get your facts straight. I'm not trying to getHindu Taliban deleted. I haven't even worked on that article other than voting in the AfD. A lot of people post here on my talk page, and if you'll notice I only respond to a few of them. Tinu said thatthe IP is a sock of Hkelkar. Not me. Jeez. --vi5in[talk]17:08, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh yeah, calling the cleaned up version "vandalized" is quite rich. --vi5in[talk]21:27, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Singh, If you have misunderstood, let me clarify i dont believe Hkelkar == Vivin. I was commenting of the IP sock who commented on this page -- TinuCherian -03:40, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Vivin! How are things going on with you? Haven't heard from you in a while. I can see a stream ofcontributions, so I was wondering what was going on... Anyways, feel freemail me sometime when you're free, it would be talking to you again. Cheers! G. (·mail)06:51, 3 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Vivin! I got your e-mail that you send from WP - will reply soon. You're right, people do oppose me on WP. (seeTalk:Upanishads). I think it's a good idea to cast away an article (i.e. stop editing it) when there is too much opposition to what you are doing. The Malayali article was a fair case as I should have been more familiar with the naming rules of WP. But that was not the case with theUpanishads article. Anyways, happy editing - and keep in touch! I don't know how we can get anywhere with that article, where every single source is not acceptable. Reinstating Good Faith

[edit]

Please can you and roadahead put aside your differences and let us move ahead with the Sikh Extremism project and try and move ahead with this project and try and bring some balance to it. I have noted from past involvement in such disputes you are fair minded like Roadahead, so let us try and create some consensus. Regards.--Sikh-history (talk)16:32, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I read your message on my page and I think the tact you have adopted is the way forward. The sticking point is the initial definition. You are correct Roadahead may not have wanted it to exist but given Satanoids previous history and overt vandalism of Sikh articles:
It is easy to see why he has this attitude. Now the article is here, my main concern is to maintain some neutrality and use sources with ISBN sources, and use quotes from articles where necessary. The Sikh question as has been presented by Satanoid in the article is too simplistic. It has nothing to do with religion , but to do with politics (Khalistan, water rights, language, culture etc). --Sikh-history (talk)17:02, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that there is more of a political tone to Sikh Extremism, but the religious aspect cannot be ignored. I think we can explore this better once we agree on a set of sources. Then we can explore the use of the term within these sources and craft the article that way. --vi5in[talk]18:09, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The theory is very weak. No doubt they are Indo-Aryans but Scythians have left their mark everywhere! They might as well claim Arab, Turk-Mongolian, Persian and Afghan or British ancestry too. Everyone these days claims Scythian herritage, Bulgarians do too. The only rightful owners to Scythian ancestry is Ossetes, Ukrainians and Pashtuns.

Avicenna's notability

[edit]

Please vote onthis issue. Thanks! --Enzuru03:45, 15 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I'm a minimalist, I'm totally not into distros likeUbuntu orPC-BSD. My favourite (Linux) distro for the desktop isSlackware, and for serversDebian. Vanilla FreeBSD is much like Slackware, as well as vanilla OpenBSD (which I recently installed withopenbox as my window manager for kicks). Unfortunately in thisWin32 world I end up working with Windows servers and Microsoft's awful interfaces. Anywho, I encourage you to ditch desktop environments eventually, and switch to vanillawindow managers and a good terminal (urxvt is my favourite personally, but I thinkaterm andmrxvt are rather good too). --Enzuru22:44, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I write code,C,C++,Python,XHTML,CSS,Java &JSP (hate hate hate...),C#,PHP and maybe something else, but my coding knowledge is actually weak, I'm trying to bolster it up, I still write like an amateur. I used to be avim follower but recently I became an apostate and switched toemacs, and I'm hoping to learnlisp next to make it all the better. And my sitation is opposite, once I hit university I had like no time to really tinker around, I'm on break right now so now is the time I can. --Enzuru23:45, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tagging Kashmir articles

[edit]

Putting NPOV tags on all the articles on Indian military massacres in Kashmir without so much as bringing up objectionable passages on the talk pages is just making me doubt your objectivity. All the statements in these articles are fully referenced with human rights reports and articles from the Indian & international media.Kabuli (talk)21:17, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

SeeWP:SOAPBOX andWP:COATRACK. I really wouldn't bring up the issue of objectivity. You'll notice that I only put one article up for AfD. The other articles definitely have basis in fact and can be salvaged. But they're not that well-written and are definitely written from a subjective point of view. --vi5in[talk]21:21, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gawakadal tags

[edit]

I didn't remove ANY tags from the Gawakadal page in my last edit. I simply put in myfully referenced statements, while leaving your tags intact. Seriously, do not edit out fully referenced statements for no reason, simply because you feel like they don't cast India in a favorable light.Kabuli (talk)21:17, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and I'm sorry about the Gawakadal article. I mixed up the edit between two tabs I had open on my browser. My mistake. I'll go ahead and revert myself. --vi5in[talk]21:23, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More Kashmir articles

[edit]

Please take a look atWandhama massacre as well then. The article is poorly written, is dripping w/ partisan language, and doesn't even cite a source anywhere in the first 2 paragraphs.Kabuli (talk)21:51, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

More issues

[edit]

Also, May I suggest watching the2006 Malegaon blasts, done by the Muslims. A lot of pro-Pakistan editors are deliberately trying to conflate it with the2008 Malegaon blasts, where this sadhavi whoeversheis and the Army Colonel presently stand accused.Ontopofcosts (talk)11:44, 1 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

When you can spare the time, could you look into the edits oflalit Jagannath? ALL of his edits are biased, slanted against India, and undue weight based on tendentious anti-India misinterpretation of his "sources". He has completely trashedEconomy of India (compare it toEconomy of Pakistan), and his edits deserve close scrutiny (particularly his edits toEducation in India). he seem to have no understanding ofWP:NPOV at all, and all of his attacks are on high-ranked high-visibility India articles. Please do take a look at this stuff. Classification of Nairs as per Chaturvarna

[edit]

The article contains total misrepresentation on the classification of Nairs in Caste heirarchy. Nairs were classified as Shudras though they enjoyed a much higher position than that associated with Shudras. Their position was at it's peak from 15th century to 19th century AD. Nairs are not allowed to wear the sacred thread, which are worn by Kshtriyas. The caste system in Kerala was not exactly synonymous to Chaturvarna. For example, there are no Vaishya community in Kerala though members of Ezhava, Christian , Muslim and Chettiar communities were involved in trade. ’

If I could get your opinion

[edit]

Hello, I noticed that you taggedthis article with a POV tag once but then removed it in a subsequent edit. After reading through the article, I have come to the conclusion that the article is referenced with credible sources but I feel that the article does have a certain POV feel to it. I was just curious what prompted you to remove the tag that you previously inserted and whether you think the article in its present state suffers from some form of bias. Thanks,Vedant (talk)02:57, 29 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The limited number of referenced sources was my thought too. However, there doesn't seem to be much information related to the incident at Lal Chowk from other sources. While I have issues withthe editor's motives, I believe his edits to be well-researched and well-written which is why I decided to remove the POV tags. Thanks anyways for taking a look at the article.Vedant (talk)00:12, 25 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dear uploader:

The media file you uploaded asFile:Paliath govindan achan.jpg appears to be missing information as to its authorship (and or source),or if you did provide such information, it is confusing for others trying to make use of the image.

It would be appreciated if you would consider updating the file description page, to make the authorship of the mediaclearer.

Paliath achen revision

[edit]

Dear Sir,

May I please know as to why you have deleted the paragraphs on the Paliyam satyagraha? It holds a great importance in the history of Kerala and is strongly interlinked with the Paliath achens. The paragraphs i added were from a pdf file that i found, which had the topic something along the lines of labour class efforts in Kerala during and after independence. The Paliam satyagraha is one of a kind, which kind of united the different castes of Kerala and was something like a unified struggle. In addition to this, the article mentioned about the press' reaction to the issue and the Paliam family members at that time. Although some members were silent on this issue(which includes my ancestors), there were obviously others who thought that this was wrong and rebelled against it.The one's who were orthodox and in their own rights had their reasoning of the roads belonging to the Paliam family thereby making it their private property. I thought this point was key to be highlighted(Sorry that I put in the names of some members, forgot to remove them while I edited). So, do you not think, considering all the points that I have given above, that we should re-edit the Paliam satyagraha subheading in the Paliath Achan page? Or maybe we could make a new page for it separately as well?Pedia.01110 (talk)19:53, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It was largely original research and read like an essay, along with a large amount of editorialization. Also there was a lot of information that was repeated. Maybe the whole thing can be rewritten. I left some of the key parts in when I deleted the changes.vi5in[talk]03:42, 15 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
