Hi Left guide, I just wanted to let you know that I have added thenew page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to thepage curation tools and can start patrolling pages from thenew pages feed. If you asked for this atrequests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.
This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance atWikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:
Fully support this! @Left guide does great work at AfD! Knowledgeable in discussions and when closing them. They've also provided me with some really helpful advice and direction! Congratulations!11WB (talk)12:46, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I had a trial run in September for the backlog drive, was an excellent opportunity for gaining some hands-on experience!11WB (talk)19:28, 14 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
This concerns this editSpecial:Diff/1243056949; sorry if you'd prefer that I just undid your bold redirect, but I've seen too many NPRs accuse people who undo (imo) nonsensical redirects/tags as being disruptive or promotional that I just take these to RfD automatically. Also, I get this was a while ago and you were probably cleaning up the old Greg Henderson articles (and this seemed easier than AfD?), but as a reader of Wikipedia, redirects like this always confused me before I figured out how to access their page history; it's not intuitive, it's just frustrating. At least if the page is a redlink I get told that Wikipedia doesn't have an article on the subject, you know?GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋17:46, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, disagree! There's no information in that article about him, the sources don't discuss him in the context of that painting at all, and my reader self would still be much more frustrated by the Wikipedia software hard-sending me to that page than I would by it giving me the search results. I admit I don't quite get all of RfD's insider baseball rules (where the plausible typo deletion criteria is called "implausible typos"?), but I can't see an AfD agreeing to preserve an article some participants view as promo garbage solely because the page creator added an picture taken/drawn by the entity to a different article.GreenLipstickLesbian💌🦋19:43, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Just trying to offer an alternative as a helpful suggestion (maybe not so helpful? :). I am fine with whatever happens to this article. I'm exhausted from what was a massive clean up and not am really interested in spending my time jumping back in. Please do as the community wishes.Netherzone (talk)20:04, 12 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@GreenLipstickLesbian: Hi, thank you for the editorial courtesy extended and the additional explanation. Yes, this was part of a cleanup spree of that user's article creations I did quite a while ago that I don't have much interest in being involved in these days. In hindsight, it's not an excellent redirect target. Since you andNetherzone are both in agreement to restore and send to AfD (which is also an option I am open to), I am going to speedy procedurally close the RfD to do that. I really don't have much of an opinion on the exact fate of this page, other than I'm doubtful it meets notability guidelines for a standalone article. Regards,Left guide (talk)05:31, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Jay: You're welcome, and thanks for the advice, I'll remember to do this in future RfD relists. I may also check my recent relists among active ones for this if I have extra time.Left guide (talk)17:50, 22 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
