Made some changes toBattle of Franklin

[edit]

Hello, I came across some controversy regarding whether military rank titles in the American Civil War articleBattle of Franklin should have a NATO-style abbreviation, e.g. MGEN or Maj. Gen. I'm letting you know that I changed them back (e.g. from MGEN to Maj. Gen.) because it seems like you added them originally (about two years ago), then agreed that they should not be in the article, but nobody ever got around to removing them. If this is controversial or if I made a mistake, please feel free to revert the edit where I did this:Special:Diff/1316676385. This is all spelled out in my talk-page comment,Special:Permalink/1316676848#The_use_of_anachronistic_rank_abbreviations_which_aren't_normally_used_in_sources_is_discouraged. Thank you! — Johan Brahm (talk)22:08, 13 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
