You may be wondering why my archives only start at August 2007.The reason: I didn't archive my pages before that date, I merely deleted them (as I didn't know how to archive). Therefore, if anyone wishes to see material before August 2007? check out this talkpage's 'history'.
Hi, comments like "To footnote or not to footnote." and "Don't stress over the 'what ifs'." are not helpful and may be perceived as annoying. The first was posted in a conversation about linking (Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Infoboxes#Baltic birth places and linking), and so seems off topic. Even if it were on topic, it doesn't advance the conversation in any way, as it's not asking a question, making a request, making a proposal, or making an argument. It seems to be just noise, which is not appropriate on pages which are meant to be a place for volunteers to coordinate getting work done.
The second comment is telling another editor how to feel, which is general inappropriate. It is also not advancing the coordination of volunteer work in a useful way. If you wish to have a harmonious experience working with other editors, I would recommend considering the purpose of your comment more carefully before making them. Thanks! --Beland (talk)19:56, 18 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Editing wise, I usually focus on one or two articles or topics and then take a longer break. I don't have time to be terminally online.
Currently though, I happened here by chance, when I saw what was in my opinion questionable information in the biography infobox of Kaja Kallas, and decided to investigate.Doomnoodles (talk)04:48, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
On 29 August 2023 at 17:26, Jjj1238 moved the material in the "Controversy" section to the "Prime Minister of Estonia (2021–present)" section.[1]TFD (talk)05:45, 25 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, looks like you've immediately reverted my re-additions of the Olympic Games sidebars in 2024, 2020, and 2016. Really confused on why they were removed in the first place, can't see to find a discussion on their unilateral removal, and they barely break up the introduction (most of the time it is affected), but their lack of presence on the home page definitely makes navigation much more difficult.
You're recreating blank spaces next to the infoboxes. Also, there was no discussion to add those templates, particulary underneath the infoboxes. If you're going to re-add them? don't put'em directly underneath the infoboxes.GoodDay (talk)21:03, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
I was wondering about this too, I don't have a particular opinion on the templates but I was confused about what "break up the introduction" means, since I don't see any layout changes on my side. Could you share a screenshot or something with the issue circled? It might be something that depends on the display type. I'm really asking out of trying to get a clearer picture, I don't really want the templates back, but I just don't understand the reason.IndigoManedWolf (talk)21:10, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
@IndigoManedWolf: I don't know how to show a screenshot. I do know that on my monitor, the placement of these templates created a long white blank on the left of the infobox. It cause a reader to not get to the lead, until he's scrolled down past the infobox & template. If the template was placed somewhere else in the article? it would avoid the problem.GoodDay (talk)21:12, 27 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, strange. I think I've seen similar issues but only when viewing from a mobile device. Still, it's worth avoiding that issue, so the removal is understandable. I think if this discussion goes further, then it is worth showing your reasoning at a project page or on the talk pages, since most editors won't know what you're talking about because that is not how it appears on their end. I only had the issue after zooming in to 240%.
Thanks for your help on the AN page. I really wasn't sure how to proceed there, so I appreciate the help.
Would you mind if, in the future I should need it (hopefully I won't), that I put issues such as this passed you for assistance and guidance? I used to go to Deepfriedokra for that but, as I said, he's semi-retired and not online much anymore. If you'd rather I don't, that's fine and I completely understand. Anyway, thanks again....Neutralhomer •Talk •01:40, 28 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, I appreciate that. It's not going an everyday or every week thing. I only follow 10 articles, so situations will beextremely few andvery far between. But I appreciate it. Take Care...Neutralhomer •Talk •02:09, 28 January 2026 (UTC)[reply]
