Edits toList of bridges in the United States

[edit]

Information icon Hi. It appears that around June 17, you tried to giveList of bridges in the United States a different title by copying all of its content and pasting it into new page calledList of bridges in the United States by state. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits thepage history, which islegally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to bemoved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, you should be able to move an article yourself using the"Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may behidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates aredirect from the old title to the new. You can then leave the redirect as is, orbe bold like you did and create a new article at that title. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions atrequested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them atWikipedia:Requests for history merge. Proposed deletion ofList of highest bridges with heights below 250 meters

[edit]
Notice

Unclear why this would meetWP:NLIST, and completely sourced to a wiki, not a reliable source.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may bedeleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the{{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in youredit summary or onthe article's talk page.

This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. To help yourself remember, you may wish to check the "prompt me when entering a blank edit summary" box inyour preferences. Thanks!Jessicapierce (talk)14:21, 23 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
