An arbitration case regarding The Rambling man has now closed and the final decision is viewable at the link above. The following remedies have been enacted:
Nothing in this remedy prevents enforcement of policy by uninvolved administrators in the usual way.

Hello,
I’m writing to remind you that as a result of the arbitration case that both you and The Rambling Man areprohibited from interacting with each other, barring the usual exceptions. Hey there! This is to let you know that phase I of the2024 requests for adminship (RfA) review is nowno longer accepting new proposals. Lots of proposals remain open for discussion, and the current round of review looks to be on a good track towards making significant progress towards improvingRfA's structure and environment. I'd like to give my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given us their idea for change to make RfA better, and the same to everyone who has given the necessary feedback to improve those ideas. The following proposals remain open for discussion:
To read proposals that were closed as unsuccessful, please seeWikipedia:Requests for adminship/2024 review/Phase I/Closed proposals. You are cordially invited once again to participate in the open discussions; when phase I ends, phase II will review the outcomes of trial proposals and refine the implementation details of other proposals. Another notification will be sent out when this phase begins, likely with the first successful close of a major proposal. Happy editing!theleekycauldron (talk • she/her), via:

As one of the most reputable universities in China,Fudan University deserves a comprehensive wikipedia page for the global audience. However, the user has cut down more than half of the carefully curated and edited contribution over the years by many other users for no reason.
I would like to specifically ask what is the reason behind deletion of the previous history section, especially regarding the funding and Chinese meaning behind the university name as cited here: "Fudan University, then romanized asFuh Tan, was founded as Fudan Public School in 1905, byMa Xiangbo,SJ, who had resigned fromAurora University. The two Chinese charactersFu (復, means "again") andDan (旦, means "morning", "light" ), meaning both "(heavenly light shines) day after day" and "Aurora Revived"." This entire paragraph was deleted, and the previous user cited reasons are :"WP:NOTADVERT, WP:RS, WP:NOT, WP:BOOSTER", please specify which one this paragraph violated and how so?
Also, the following sections describing the history from 1911-present was completely deleted. What is the reason for this? To compare,Zhejiang University has a very similar section, which the user did not delete, what is the reason behind?Frostst (talk)21:36, 29 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In February 2024, I tried to replace the single covers for the songs "Alone Again (Naturally)" and"Helter Skelter" (song) (File:Alone Again single.jpg andFile:The Beatles "Helter Skelter" US picture sleeve.jpg) with free single labels from Commons (c:File:Alone Again (Naturally) by Gilbert O'Sullivan side-A 1972 US release.jpg andc:File:Helter Skelter by The Beatles B-side label US vinyl (copy 2).png) as they likely failedWP:NFCC#1. Both were promptly reverted by a user who said that the cover arts are not "fully replaceable" with the vinyl labels, and both cover arts survived FFDs calling for their replacement/deletion (WP:Files for discussion/2024 February 16#File:Alone Again single.jpg and#File:The Beatles "Helter Skelter" US picture sleeve.jpg). What are your thoughts about this?JohnCWiesenthal (talk)02:53, 9 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, if an image doesn't need a caption, then it doesn't need one.For newer singles, sure. But various artworks have been used for specific releases, most of them overseas.
it's clear that editors prefer actual cover art to pictures of the records. Not surprised. However, that also leads some editors into using (misleading) cover arts of parent albums using same names of songs, thinking that such cover arts would fool readers, especially without using captions. Millennials and newer generation, as I fear, probably wouldn't bother researching older songs but rather newer ones heard on radio or streaming, especially when researching has never been one of their top priorities. Even they wouldn't care much about how music industry worked back in old pre-digital days from past consumers' perspectives.

Thanks for uploadingFile:Tell Me If You Still Care by S.O.S. Band 1983 US vinyl 12-inch.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim ofnon-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails thefirst non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may haveno free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking onthis link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per thenon-free content policy. Hello, George,
Please consider posting your own notifications with PROD'd articles and files rather than relying on a bot to do this for you. I've found that FastilyBot doesn't always post notifications when it should and it is easier for the editor tagging the page to do it themself. Just use Twinkle to tag the page and, in your Twinkle Preferences, make sure the "Notify page creator" box is checked off. Thank you.LizRead!Talk!21:32, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

As I understand it, use of templates, such as{{pb}} for paragraph breaks, is better for many purposes - such as accessibility - than html tags.
This is just a hint, not a complaint (your edit conflicted with mine on the blackout RfC, but I've left yours in place, since editing other people's comments is meant to be very minimal).
This comment doesn't really need to be split into three paragraphs via para breaks; I'm just doing them here as an illustration. :)Boud (talk)23:12, 14 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi George. I don't know if you remember but 5 years ago I spoke to you on the Frasier talk page about "correcting" the Frasier colors. We went back and forth a little, with me proposing 11 colors and you suggesting changes. I forgot about this for a long time and recently went back and noticed the colors still haven't been "fixed". I notice someone else was calling for this change to be made, too. I would really like to unarchive that conversation (from here:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Frasier/Archive_2#Season_color) and continue where we left off. Before I do so, just checking that you still be interested in participating? You could unarchive it if you like as I'm not experienced with how to do it. When we left off, I was going to make a final selection of 11 colors then you could convert to the appropriate web-safe palette and use in the Frasier pages.Grand Dizzy (talk)00:30, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hello George Ho. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion ofFile:Bb1usacast.jpg, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Image is not from a press or photo agency. Thank you.Whpq (talk)02:02, 27 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I'm a researcher at the University of Colorado Boulder working on a project about how Wikipedia’s design features (like links and talk pages) shape how history is remembered across different languages. We’re especially focused on the Arab Spring articles in English and Arabic. More info here:https://columnlab.github.io/projects/wikiAffordancePerception/
Since you've made important contributions to the Arab Spring article, I’d be incredibly grateful if you could take a quick survey about your experience editing it. It’s just 10 questions and takes about 10 minutes.Survey link:https://cuboulder.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_5tlLObfgSGPJMjA
All responses are anonymous, and no identifying information will be published or shared.
If you're open to a short follow-up interview, I’d love to hear more about your perspective. You can respond here, on my user talk page, or let me know in the survey.
Thanks so much for your time and for your contributions to Wikipedia! Very best!Hlauriejones (talk)21:13, 2 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
