The document in question was made by the City of Los Angeles. In California, all government documents are presumed in the public domain unless specifically stated otherwise. See:
I cannot find any Los Angeles specific rulings that say otherwise, but I understand if you want the text removed just to be extra safe.

List of streets in Los Angeles andList of streets in the San Gabriel Valley

[edit]

Hi there. I have reverted yourproposed deletions of these two articles. You are however still free to nominate them onWikipedia:Articles for deletion (you cannot use{{proposed deletion}} on these pages again since I have objected). But because of the existence to the navigation boxesTemplate:Streets in Los Angeles andTemplate:Streets in the San Gabriel Valley, and the categoriesCategory:Streets in Los Angeles andCategory:Streets in the San Gabriel Valley, I would then argue on any AFD discussion that these list pages should be cleaned up and expanded, rather than deleted outright. I would cite many of the guidelines onWikipedia:Categories, lists, and navigation templates. Particularly, the line on the second paragraph which says,Many users prefer to browse Wikipedia through its lists, while others prefer to navigate by category; and lists are more obvious to beginners, who may not discover the category system right away. I would also citeWP:NOTDUPE, and that we would be deleting lists that essentially duplicates those existing navboxes and categories. Even though theses lists just have links now, they do not have thedisadvantages of categories and thedisadvantages of navboxes, especially those disadvantages that are very noticeable onmobile versions of Wikipedia (such as the fact that navboxes are currently disabled on the mobile versions, and browsing a list of links on a single list page may be far easier for users on the mobile version than trying to load categories). And of course, lists have advantages as well. So again, these lists pages should be cleaned up and expanded, not deleted outright, because of the advantages and disadvantages between categories, lists, and navigation boxes. Thanks.Zzyzx11 (talk)12:57, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Horrorthon

[edit]

I don't want to be a downer but you should really clean up this page you started. The LA Mag reference is broken, there is an eventbrite as a reference and the rest of the references are from some discontinued film website through archive.org.. i am all for promoting Santa Monica and what happens here but this page is pretty bad on the referencing..https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aero_Theatre_Horrorthon2603:8001:71F0:11D0:D174:6F0:A3CC:C5A7 (talk)16:28, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't start this page, Isplit it fromAero Theatre in order to rescue that page, as it was being overtaken by this Horrorthon stuff. You can review Aero Theatre's edit history to see who wrote all the Horrorthon stuff and ping them. For me, Aero Theatre is the important page, this one is whatever (its not even on my watch list).Gb321 (talk)18:46, 23 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Glendale Library/Brand Park

[edit]

Hi, saw your name pop up a few times in same articles, just noting that i am working on an article on Brand Park that will expand on the current section in theGlendale Library, Arts & Culture and link it to the other buildings that have articles. I have been working on it on and off but it's getting there and i'll probably move it into article space soon if you have any inputUser:Mfield/Brand ParkMfield (Oi!)04:32, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciate the request! Here are my notes:
  • Introduction is actually the lead, it should not be titled and should go above the table of contents
  • History and Wildlife section and Current Use subsection need references
  • ". The 1969 extension can be partially seen at left." in the infobox caption should be deleted
  • Infobox says the park was created in 1925, history section also needs to say this
  • "a Victorian decor was followed inside" is passive voice and should be fixed
  • Recreation section should be either a bullet-point list or complete sentences
  • "A look" should be deleted from the image caption (an image is obviously a look)
  • personally, I think the entire gallery section should go. The article is about a park, so you don't need these images of the inside of a library. One pic of the library exterior is enough
  • plaque pic should be deleted because (1) pics of plaques violateMOS:TEXTASIMAGE and (2) the hands in the pic make it a low-quality pic
  • Links section needs bulletpoints
  • in Wildlife section "occasional" should be deleted
Overall it seems like a very good start. None of the above notes are too extensive and all should be quick fixed I think.Gb321 (talk)04:46, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah a lot of the things you note are content that has come from various of the other articles and i have been wondering how much of it to discard. Certainly all those images are legacy stuff, of which i have already removed a load. I am walking distance from the park so i am going to shoot some decent shots for the article anyway.Mfield (Oi!)Mfield (Oi!)05:39, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I have incorporated most of your suggestions, some of the other sections like recreation and wildlife i am still working on hence why they were just lists of my thoughs. Thanks.Mfield (Oi!)05:58, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Noticed a couple other small things now that the bigger ones have been addressed:
  • infobox picture caption needs to explain how the picture is related to the park, since the article is about the park not the building itself. Simply adding "at Brand Park" to the end should do.
  • captions should not have periods at the end unless the caption is more than one sentence
  • in the wildlife section, your list of animals varies from singular to plural when they should all be plural
  • "each day" from lead should be deleted
  • replace 31 acres (13 ha) to 31-acre (13 ha) to get the proper formatting for how you worded the sentence. Same with the 666 acres
  • Spanish and Moorish should have hyperlinks to Spanish architecture and Moorish architecture
  • the only things that should be in bold font are the title of your article when referenced the first time in the lead, and any "known as", "also known as", "formerly known as", etc. names in the lead. "Shoseian Teahouse, also known as the Whispering Pine Teahouse" should have bold text on its own page, not this one. "Associates of Brand Library & Art Center" also should not be bolded.
  • "North" should not be capitalized when it is in the middle of the sentence.
That is all, again all very simple fixes.Gb321 (talk)19:58, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
All done thanks, am going to shoot a better photo for the infobox, flesh out the remaining sections, and then move it overMfield (Oi!)20:57, 27 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It's up nowBrand_Park, decided to just move it in and follow up with new photos this week when i get a chance. Have been linking it into the other articles accordinglyMfield (Oi!)04:11, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks good. I made an organizational adjustment, something I was thinking about earlier but it was just too difficult to explain. Feel free to keep it if you like it or revert my edit if you don't.Gb321 (talk)05:41, 28 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
