Malicious account

I have noticed that you have reverted several disruptive edits made bythis editor, and have recently gave warning with the account in question. I would like to highlight that the edit linked above is not merely a violation of the common name policy—it constitutes a serious case of vandalism. The user changed the name of one of India’s major football clubs, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, to Mohun Bagan Sonagachi Giant, deliberately referencingSonagachi, a well-known red-light district in Kolkata. This edit is clearly disparaging, offensive, and intended to defame.

Additionally, the behavior and editing pattern of this account bear a strong resemblance to that ofChincong999, a previously blocked user who was blocked for reasons including vandalism, violation of the username policy, and insulting other editors in edit summaries. Given the nature and intent of the edits, I believe this account should be reported promptly.Chanchaldm2 (talk)12:26, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Chanchaldm2: I reverted them for violatingWP:COMMONNAME. Didn't notice the exact kind of vandalism, so thanks for the info. As for the SPI, could you link diffs here. Thanks. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)12:38, 18 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion related Kamboj article.

hello sir @FylindfotberserkHope you'll doing well, actually in the article, the information intered was correct, but i think I've made a mistake after deleting some of the information which was before the article (the wrong informationi had deleted). So i request you to, allow me to edit the article, ill maintain the Wikipedia rules ang regulations and ill not delete any information which is in the article.Thank you --Kambojahistory (talk)02:38, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]

The article was locked by an admin. The information maybe correct may be not, but the source is deemed unreliable in Wikipedia, hence we cannot use it in Wikipedia. You need to find post-Indian IndependenceWP:SCHOLARLY sources for the purpose and discuss in the talk page forWP:CONSENSUS. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)12:01, 29 July 2025 (UTC)[reply]
hey sir thank you so much to lead me, I'm here with one source

Mahesh Babu

Hi Fylindfotberserk, do you have a reliable source forMahesh Babu's DoB? - the only source I can find in the article is International Business Times which, as perWP:IBTIMES is "generally unreliable". The categories give it as 1974, and there has been a lot of edit warring on the dates in the infobox and lead - but as we know there has also been a lot of fancruft in that article. -Arjayay (talk)14:31, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@Arjayay: Didn't notice that today is his birthday. Got multiple RS stating 50th birthday[1][2][3][4][5], while one mentioning 49th[6]. Maybe replace with one of these, meanwhile look for an older source? -Fylindfotberserk (talk)14:42, 9 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. I've replaced IBT by references from News18 and India today - according toWP:ICTFSOURCES TOI should not be used "for details like birthdate", and 2 references should be enough - best wishes -Arjayay (talk)11:27, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Arjayay: Thanks. Yesterday I found an 2011 India Today source[7] per which he was born in 1974. While a recent Moneycontrol one[8] implies 1976. Not sure what to do, but considering the overwhelming number of sources mentioning 50th birthday, churned out recently (possibly WP:CIRCULAR of the Wiki article), IMO keeping 1975 would be "less problematic" for the moment as far as disruptions to the page is concerned. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)12:32, 10 August 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@RationalPuff: Not sure why you put that tag. This is the official name of the district, not theWP:COMMONNAME. Hence a valid redirect. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)13:52, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fylindfotberserk yes, I'm aware. CSDs are for these misspelt names. It's 'Sribhumi District' and a redirect already exits.RationalPuff (talk)13:58, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RationalPuff: Well, "Sri Bhumi" is used in some sources[9][10], includingthisAssam government one. "Sri-Bhumi" on the other hand seems to be the "misspelt" one. When the new name was announced, multiple newbie IDs were moving the articles to "Sribhumi", which is why I had to revert those WP:RMUMs back to theWP:COMMONNAMEs and generate article histories to thwart them. But they went on to create various iterations of term, prompting me to do the same for those, hence teh situation. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)14:10, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fylindfotberserk understood. Also the page should have renamed instead of a redirect. I will try to fix it when I have some time. Cheers!RationalPuff (talk)14:20, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RationalPuff: Thanks. Renamed to 'Sribhumi' you mean? Should have aWP:CONSENSUS first in the talk page. Too contentious, especially because of the recent name-change-spree in the BJP-ruled states. Have a look at older discussions[11] and[12]. Also, there are other settlement articles in queue before this one gets moved. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)14:29, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Fylindfotberserk useful, thanks for pointing that out! Wasn't aware of the cloudy political aspects and therefore I would agree it's premature at this point to rename the article.RationalPuff (talk)14:43, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@RationalPuff: Exactly. Thanks for the notification. Happy editing. -Fylindfotberserk (talk)14:54, 30 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
