Information icon Hello, I'mZackmann08. Thank you for your recent contributions toCana Island. I noticed that when you added the image to theinfobox, you added it as athumbnail. In the future, please do not use thumbnails when adding images to an infobox (seeWP:INFOBOXIMAGE). What does this mean? Well in the infobox, when you specify the image you wish to use, instead of doing it like this:

|image=

Instead just supply the name of the image. So in this case you can simply do:

|image=SomeImage.jpg.

There will then be a separate parameter for the image caption such as|caption=Some image caption. Please note that this is a generic form message I am leaving on your page because you recently added a thumbnail to an infobox. The specific parameters for the image and caption may be different for the infobox you are using! Please consult the Template page for the infobox being used to see better documentation. Thanks!Zackmann08 (Talk to me/What I been doing)23:12, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You can simply supply the name of the image. So in this case just do:

NRHP article, and tips

[edit]
Thomas R. Wall Residence

Hey, glad to see your new articleThomas R. Wall Residence, with your nice pic, too! I edited a little bit there to refine the referencing to the NRHP nomination document, adding author and prep date from Section 11 of the document and adding link to accompanying photo (singular, for this one). It looks like you did a fine job developing the article, apparently starting with a good version ofinfobox NRHP to adapt, and having found your way to the National Park Service's NRHP nomination document text perhaps by Google searching. But, FYI, there's an easier way: try the "NRHP infobox generator" tool athttp://elkman.net/nrhp/, which yieldsthis copy-ready material, exactly, for the Thomas R. Wall Residence. It only works for some states (wisconsin included though) and only for NRHP-listing dates before some date in 2014 I think; there is more info about the tool and other resources atwp:NRHPHELP. Probably the best thing it offers is the already-partly-filled-out reference (using a URL definition using the NRHP reference number for the site) with the photos document included:

[1]

which I would refine slightly to fix the title, and add author and date, and describe the number of photos and their year(s):

[2]

References

I hope this tool might help and encourage you, to do more! There are just so so many NRHP sites still needing articles, and photos too;wp:NRHP needs your help, feel free to join the WikiProject NRHP and/or to comment atwt:NRHP. Anyway, whatever, thanks for what you've done, and feel free to contact me whenever (at my Talk page if I don't seem to notice a reply here). Keep up your good work, cheers, --Doncram (talk)08:28, 14 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
