What a kind thing to say. Btw, shout out to my better half,Johnboddie ... a lot of the smarter bits were his (but he only gets credit in the edit history and in my sandbox, to avoid getting dragged before the Inquisition ... smart man). - Dank (push to talk)00:50, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Yes, I followed Johnboddie's contributions. I'm very impressed that ye got so many blue links in for individual works; that makes me smiley. Thanks to ye both. The only drawback is that the blurb is now better than the lead. Humbug.Ceoil (talk)01:12, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Note I stand by this; some sort of white space seems to have been the catalysis; beyond that; sofixit. If you are main page page orientate - complain before rather than during.Ceoil (talk)03:35, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
A few, but like 99% of the planet cant write for hell. That's were ye guys come in, and it matters a hell of a lot because readers will be turned off and click out if the prose are tortured and uneven.Ceoil (talk)01:18, 1 December 2018 (UTC)
Saw what happened on ERRORS yesterday - no good deed goes unpunished, eh. I dont thinking anyone was getting at you per se, but can understand the frustration.Ceoil (talk)19:29, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
I actually just left a note on Floq's talk page about this. I'm on a 3-day break, I'll be back with an apology and a proposal on Wednesday that I think, I hope, will make a lot of sense to the ERRORS regulars. - Dank (push to talk)19:38, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Wouldn't worry if I was you, as you have a record that speaks for itself, outside of any real or perceived skirmishes. I say this for two reasons (1) basically a consistent hit rate in delivering above par blurbs given the pressure of delivering one per day, every day (2) you are a volunteer who gets in and does it, taking the flack as necessary.Ceoil (talk)02:56, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Very kind again. My proposal in a nutshell is that the whole set of regulars and commenters at the TFA section of ERRORS should take credit together for the excellent job we've done over the years, and that they should see me as just a regular. It might be useful to talk about what the other TFA coords would like to see when we get very occasional bad behavior at ERRORS/TFA ... but that's not my problem, all I can do is just suggest that people have a chat about what their expectations are. - Dank (push to talk)03:05, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
I kind of get the impression that ERROS for FAC is very much a GOTTA thing, a rather hostile & arrogant atmosphere for newb IPs, nominators & process admins equally, and believe that a "take credit together", rather than haughtiness would aid preventative rather than reactive maintenance. DYK is a whole other ball game, not to be conflated, and dont get me started.....Ceoil (talk)03:10, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
If we're talking about the TFA today and TFA tomorrow sections at ERRORS, I've kept an archive of the important stuff since mid-July (on my local computer) ... it doesn't seem very hostile to me, but if it feels hostile to anyone we should definitely talk about that. - Dank (push to talk)03:14, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Well I see a lot of IPs raising valid questions on talk main, and getting told shit like follow incomprehensible instructionWP:XUDP or whatever, WP:perennial, or write an FA article your damn self; which is due to a few regulars there and frankly wants me to stray from far far away from main page participation. This is why we need more people like Fram, TRM, and you around.Ceoil (talk)03:20, 7 December 2018 (UTC)
Military history WikiProject World War I Op-Ed Series
The Teamwork Barnstar
In recognition of the role you played in cleaning up my God-awful spelling and grammar in the World War I Op-Ed series published by the Military history WikiProject's newsletterThe Bugle over the last four years, I hereby present you with this teamwork barnstar. It is thanks to so many different editors like you who took the time to copyedit the nearly four year long series that it ended up being as successful as it was, and I am grateful for your help since spelling and grammar are not my strongest suites. Yours sincerely,TomStar81 (Talk)14:37, 2 December 2018 (UTC)
Just a note that I don't think that the FA blurb needs "Zero Energy Thermonuclear Assembly". That was backronym, no one ever actually referred to it that way.Maury Markowitz (talk)18:56, 13 December 2018 (UTC)
Wishing you and yours a Happy Holiday Season, from the horse and bishop person. May the year ahead be productive and troll-free.Ealdgyth -Talk16:52, 18 December 2018 (UTC)
Please check out "Happy" once more, I put them higher today, fora smile, and sharing (a Nobel Peace Prize). I wanted that for 1 January, but then wasn't sad about having our music pictured instead. Not too late for resolutions, New Year or not. DYK that he probably kept me on Wikipedia, back in 2012? By the line (which brought him to my attention, and earned the first precious in br'erly style) that I added to my editnotice, in fond memory? --Gerda Arendt (talk)13:15, 12 January 2019 (UTC)
