Minor edits

[edit]

Hello. Just a reminder that a minor edit is one "consistingsolely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearrangement of text without modification of the content" (bolding original). SeeWP:MINOR.Your edit toUEFA Euro 1988 which included the removal of a paragraph without explanation isn't even remotely a minor edit, nor was it covered by the summary of "Clean-up formatting". Please be more careful. Thanks,Struway2 (talk)10:46, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

My main problem with editing such pages are the way editors spell out the abbreviation of certain sites (e.g. "Union of European Football Associations" instead of "UEFA"), which is redundant.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆16:19, 28 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Appreciation

[edit]

Hi. I appreciate your dedication to articles related to Czech Republic. I have spent several minutes on your userpage, where I have moved from article history of footballer Karel Rada. I find it interesting that someone from Indonesia, young woman, edites articles about "random" European country and also, I was somehow moved by your "situation" as stated there above.

I hope your decication to the Wikipedia will last and that you will be content in your personal life as well.

Bye. :-)Triquelito (talk)21:00, 17 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was just trying to clean them up. Outside of Wikipedia, I'm doing research on such football players because they are hardly known outside their homeland.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆10:08, 18 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, @Clariniie, I just want to let you know that your redirects between the two Puffy AmiYumi stars have been back to separate because unfortunately there’s no need to worry about separate songs. They have their own lives to reincarnate.2600:1004:B241:12:85A8:CBE9:E85:BA01 (talk)19:09, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]

According toWP:BANDMEMBER,Members of notable bands are redirected to the band's article, not given individual articles, unless they have demonstrated individual notability.
  • Ami Ōnuki: 1. Pregnancy announcement on a primary site; 2. Blog by the band's staff
  • Yumi Yoshimura: Both routine announcements
I made redirect for the members to pages because the references provided do not satisfyWP:GNG. Even if the article meets a subject-specific notability guideline, IRS SIGCOV is stillrequired; blogs, social media, and routine announcements (whether the site is reliable or not) do not count. Has anyone searched for the members' names in Japanese (e.g. 大貫 亜美 for Ami Ōnuki)? Because that's where coverage would be; a Google search in English or usingRomaji isn't sufficient.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Afd April Fools Day joke nomination

[edit]

Hello there! I made a joke nomination aboutGianluigi Buffon atWikipedia:Articles for deletion/Log/April Fools' Day 2025 that, as we both participate in football AFD discussions, I thought you'd find funny (yes I look very desperate but it's still good humour)RossEvans19 (talk)18:46, 1 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Usage of diacritical marks in citation titles

[edit]

Hi, I noticed withthis edit you added diacritics to titles which do not contain them, such as Corriere della Sera, The Independent, The Herald, RAI, SS Lazio, The Daily Telegraph, BBC, and possibly others. According toWikipedia:Diacritical marks, "In citations and quotations, diacritical marks are used as they appear in the source". So, could you remove part of that edit, and take it into account for future changes across the site?C67903:43, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I fixed that because I thought the diacritic marks were used according to article titles (e.g. Nedved instead of Nedvěd), and didn't know there was a guideline for it. If we can't use diacritic marks in references, why is Zilina fixed to Žilina for example? You also forgot to mention that I fixed certain capitalized titles perMOS:ALLCAPS.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆12:34, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Wecan use diacritics in references, but only where the source uses them. Outside of references, of course we can update them. Not sure what you mean about capitalised titles.C67916:01, 23 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
About capitalized titles, some sources use like "OFFICIAL: [Name] signs a long-term contract to [Club]", and I reduced it.Here is an example.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆14:58, 27 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Clariniie. Thank you for your work onJoshua Suherman. Another editor,Ckfasdf, has reviewed it as part ofnew pages patrol and left the following comment:

The subject is definitely notable. However, since he is primarily known as a child singer, it would be better if the article could be expanded to cover more of his childhood career. I have marked this as reviewed.

Non eng text in references

[edit]

Hello, a note on romanizing people and publication names in references. Except for if aWP:COMMONNAME or personal preference is known, we prefer the use of systematic romanization on Wikipedia. SeeWP:KOREANNAME for guidance on people names. "Lee Woong" is considered ad-hoc and not systematic; "Lee Ung" would be per KOREANNAME.

Similarly, "Ilyo sinmun" would be systematic, although I'm not sure of their official spelling. "Sh" isn't used for 시 in Korean romanization except in "shwi" in 쉬grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk)14:47, 9 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

"Sh" isn't used for 시 in Korean romanization except in "shwi" in 쉬 What aboutKyunghyang Shinmun? If there's no official spelling, I'd recommend using just "Ilyo".⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆12:39, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
"Kyunghyang Shinmun" is ad-hoc; it's not per any romanization system. In RR it'd be "Gyeonghyang sinmun", in MR it'd be "Kyŏnghyang sinmun'.grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk)12:45, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think just doing "Ilyo" is a good idea; that's too vague. Better to do just do "Ilyo sinmun", I'm not sure why there's an aversion to the inclusion of "sinmun"grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk)12:45, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I mean... Why does the article use that title instead of Revised Romanization spelling, which Wikipedia only prefers?⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆12:54, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Because that's their official spelling.grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk)12:57, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Also Wikipedia does not only prefer RR; seeMOS:KO-ROMAN.grapesurgeon (seefooddiet) (talk)12:58, 11 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Super Penguin League: Noted unconstructive edits

[edit]

Hi, Noted unconstructive edits.

  • html/ SQL coding in Wikipedia are not case sensitive, hence CAPS of characters not required.
  • ubl is acceptable code in Wikipedia article writing, no need of full form of the abbreviations
  • Links are added through auto generated wikipedia visual edits options, (script-title) edits is unnecessary as other language code is automatically picked. No need for manual intervention.
  • Website: Name is automatically picked. Website name with (.com) is acceptable mode. No need for manual creation on website names.
  • Date: Date format is automatically picked, acceptable in english wikipedia.
  • If you feel few citations are unreliable, please delete the same. However, all links are checked in portal before adding in the article.

(https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources/Perennial_sources)I am reverting your edits on these multiple grounds, citing mentioned issuesSakuraSmart (talk)16:32, 18 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]

To be fair, my edits onSuper Penguin League were correct, but to answer your reply:
  1. MOS:ALLCAPS statesAvoid writing with all caps (all capital letters), including small caps (all caps at a reduced size), when they have only a stylistic function. Reduce them to title case, sentence case, or normal case, as appropriate.
  2. I changed fromubl toUnbulleted list equality with the template's page name.
  3. We usually use "script-title" for references not written in Latin Alphabet as a variant of {{Citation}}. The original non-Latin title in the script-title parameter (not the title parameter) with language code just before the title (e.g.zh for Chinese). SeeMOS:KO-REF for similar situation, although I'm not sure if this also applies to other languages that do not use Latin script, including Chinese.
  4. In terms of websites, we usually add their names withoutwww prefix (e.g.kknews.com or justKK News).
  5. Date format is automatically picked Where and by whom?
  6. Image-hosting websites are not used across Wikipedia articles.
You forgot to mention language in references. I feel like including those (e.g.language=zh-TW instead of justlanguage=zh) is redundant and unnecessary.
The best thing to do would be open a talk page discussion on why the article is poorly-formatted and what should be done about it, perWP:BRD. I'll go when I get a chance. You also may take a look atChina's Got Talent if you happen to be familiar with the program, or think my edits were incorrect too.
⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆09:06, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, Appreciate your time to reply, however these are my take.
  • MOS: ALLCAPS This is valid when you write (Eg: I AM ALIVE), here caps needs to be removed. Not on codes (Eg: (reflect --> Reflist) or (short note --> Short note) etc, is unconstructive edits.
  • Coding is not case sensitive, hence sentences in Cyber/Information Technology Coding, do not requires (Sentence Proper) formatting. ( SQL & Html language)
  • New heading paragraph: Starts with name of the (Subject) and not straight with pronoun (It). In Second line of the para pronoun (It) is used.
  • Visual Edits: As previously mentioned, Top Right Tab (") button, once clicked and url submitted, whole citation format is automatically picked. Hence, language, date, website, title is automatically adjusted as per AI coding fields. Else error is thrown. #There are 2 modes: Visual Edits & Source Edits. In Visual Editing mode citation formats are auto picked. Refer all tabs and it's facilities.
  • Title: None of the reference had (Eg:WWW.ABC.Com) mentioned, as BOT throws errors in (Red colour). Reference without WWW. but with (ABC.Com) is acceptable. This is clearly mentioned in previous post.
  • A for Apple, A for Alpha, A for Albert & A for Atlanta, all are right, if it follows parameters. Article gets rejected if Wikipedia parameter is not followed or if it has too many policy breaches.
  • Understand 'Various' yet 'Structured' article writing styles under Wikipedia policies.
  • Request you to understand the post intention, and not consider otherwise.
Note: You are free to delete, if you have substantial evidence that some reference falls under unreliable categories.
Thanks.SakuraSmart (talk)10:35, 19 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Which one of the replies are you exactly referring to? How AI coding fields adjust those parameters? Regarding whether image-hosting websites are reliable or not, I've asked onWikipedia talk:Reliable sources.⋆。˚꒰ঌClara A. Djalim໒꒱˚。⋆14:57, 21 September 2025 (UTC)[reply]
