Hello, Bearcat. This message is being sent to remind you of significant upcoming changes regarding logged-out editing.
Starting 4 November, logged-out editors will no longer have their IP address publicly displayed. Instead, they will have atemporary account (TA) associated with their edits. Users with some extended rights like administrators and CheckUsers, as well as users with thetemporary account IP viewer (TAIV) user right will still be able to reveal temporary users' IP addresses and all contributions made by temporary accounts from a specific IP address or range.
How do temporary accounts work?

Hi Bearcat, you removed the category "Distinguished Services Award". That is a good action. However, in doing that, you also removed (probably by accident) categories related to my research area. I believed that the following were on the list: optical telecommunication, fiber optics, plastic optical fiber, optical devices, photonics. May I ask you to put those items back on the list ? Hi there. You recently removed the categories from userboxes I created, citingWP:USERNOCAT. Thank you for your edits. After reviewing the cited guideline, and other templates found atWikipedia:Userboxes/Politics by country/United States/Political parties, I many of these templates to be categorized in[[Category:United States political party user templates]]. Was there something I did wrong, or are these just other inappropriate categorizations?

By chance, can someone take a look atAftyn Behn. There's a dispute regarding some content, which I believe isWP:UNDUE for multiple reasons. However, a user keeps adding in the same content, instead of bringing it to the talk page. In their most recent edit, they made a claim against me which was also felt like an attack on my character. I have no interest in violating 3RR but the user seems to have no interest in conversation in accordance withWP:ONUS. This is also a living biography page which makes things even trickier since we've tended to exclude controversial material unless heavily sourced.

I don't think the full protection needs to last the rest of the week. The content under dispute was added by an admin after an edit request provided better sourcing, and this was three days ago.
