Dear AlanM1, You're invited to a zoom call, taking place on February 11, with the goal of improving the article onLos Angeles toFeatured article status! I often find it daunting to approach the Big Subjects on my own—so if you, like me, want a time to sit down with fellow dedicated editors and tackle something important and complex, this is the zoom for you! I, unfortunately, have no way to transmit snacks over zoom; but I trust you to exercise good judgement and discretion in selecting snacks of your own. Hope to see you there—if you're interested, add your name here! theleekycauldron (talk •contribs) (they/she)00:19, 10 January 2022 (UTC)To opt out of future mailings about LA meetups, please remove your name fromthis list.[reply] | |

| Re my comment of 2020-Aug-24 at " talk: Wayne Roberson, Austin, Texas", you asked about errors I mentioned but did not correct…these were minor, but nobody likes loose ends. Before I elaborate to you or proceed to fix those errors, I’ve tried to learn more about entering. But finding where to go within Wikipedia to learn how to do many things eludes me. Much of my prior editing has been desultory: rephrasing for clarity, etc. Often I simply look into an "edit" screen to see how things are done. Your experience as an editor is far beyond my knowledge, and you replied to me, so I am asking for help. I have an example problem that pertains to many things I would like to enter: I cannot learn how to add to or revise the "References" section of an article. An example is "Fort Lancaster": all I see is on the "edit" screen is "==References==" then " I’ve entered several times to this article (in 1974-1976, I was head of field archeology at that site). I want to comment on a recent statement about a "model" of the site in a local (Ozona TX) museum, which museum’s Wikipedia article has a photo of a cute but fanciful little construction with no data to support it. There is no illustration in Federal or State of Texas data showing what was above ground, only archeological ephemera such as foundation stones and soil differences are evident. The supposed "ruins" of a building in the article itself is the work of late 1960’s architects who had little more than a few scattered stones to guide them, and the "restoration" is imaginative and embarrassing, to say the least, but I would not eliminate the photo or criticize the "restoration" — which precedes my time at Texas Parks and Wildlife. How should I proceed with my learning. And how may I avoid being obtrusive?Wayne Roberson, Austin, Texas (talk)23:33, 25 January 2022 (UTC)[reply] |
<ref>...</ref> tags at the point in the text where you want the[#] to appear. The wiki software then assembles them all at the point where the{{Reflist}} template is found (usually in the References section), doing additional formatting and setting up the links back and forth to the[#] in the article text.Your edit to revert on Kirksville, MO was not made by me. I believe I was logged into my Wiki account and a student took over and inserted the 'god forsaken wasteland' edit. Sorry to have caused that trouble and good looking out. I'll be more careful to log out of my account in the future. From an embarrassed Kirksvillian.— Precedingunsigned comment added byToka248 (talk •contribs)16:29, 7 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello.
Although you've not been very active at all there recently, I see you're still currentlylisted as a host at the Teahouse. So I wanted to make sure you're aware of the imminent rollout of newGrowth Team Features which every new account will be getting by default. Each users will soon see a new 'Homepage' tab next to theirUser page. It contains two main elements which might impact on your involvement - andyou'd be welcome to get involved and help out directly with one of them.
To spread the load on our currentlist of around 65 mentors, I'm reaching out to ask if you'd like to help out and sign up as one? The workload is relatively small; UserPanini! reports receiving four questions a month, on average, all of which were simple ones of the type we already get at theTeahouse, whilst I've had just one in the last 3 weeks. To view a list of every question asked ofall mentors over the last 14 days, click here.
If becoming a mentor and being available to help new users on their first few days here interests you - just as have done at the Teahouse in the past - then please consider signing up atGrowth Team features/Mentor list. But please only do so if you are genuinely willing to be available to help. Existing users can already 'opt-in' to seeing the Newcomer Homepage features via theirPreferences.
Thank you!Nick Moyes (talk)11:30, 25 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]

In March 2022, you editedBoron Air Force Station, including "grammar" changes. One was to change "inactivate" to "deactivate" in connection with the operating squadron. USAF units are not deactivated, they are inactivated. (Citations available upon request)Lineagegeek (talk)23:50, 18 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've recently been usingTemplate:Wins-losses-pct in table, which I've found very helpful, and I see you created some years ago. I'm writing to ask if there is any variant that would do the same for wins-losses-ties? I looked but could not find one. Thanks.Dmoore5556 (talk)07:28, 31 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@AlanM1: Currently I am working on the draft for the2024 Missouri Valley Conference baseball tournament, but I am hitting some unexpected troubles with the way I want to go about the bracket template. You see there is a play-in round for the No. 5 vs No. 8 seeds and the No. 6 vs No. 7 seeds, but the losers of the play-in round play each other. That's where I am running into trouble. The winner of that game then play the losers of the No. 3 vs No. 4 matchup, who the winner then plays to winner of No. 1 vs the lowest play-in seed. I know this seems confusing but you can see a visual referencehere. I am very confused on how I can make all of the games show while also making it easy to read. Thank you for your time.MarqueesCalaway (talk)14:24, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Me and another user @AlphaBeta have an argument. I have a draft that he told me to work on something else and blocked my draft into Afc, the first time that he did this i undid it than he put back and gave me a stop your disruptive editing, I have COI to the topic. So, anyways what should I do, undo it again and get banned, just continue to edit the draft, warn or easy talkback to him, or something else?Sunny's Highway 2712:25, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
