Way too many, but at the same time, not enough

Hello fellow Wikipedia editors. I am acollege student studying aerospace engineering atUniversity at Buffalo. I have a strong interest in all things space, especially anything related to theStarship launch vehicle (due to it being the firstfully reusable launch vehicle). I am also a regularchess player (rated ~1500) andD&D player/dungeon master. Because of D&D, I'm usually not active between 16:00 UTC (Sunday) and 2:00 UTC (Monday).

I mostly edit spaceflight related pages, mainly keeping theSpaceX Starship related pages up to date, especially theList of Starship launches,Super Heavy, andStarship (spacecraft) pages.

My interest inaerospace engineering began when I was randomly following links betweenWikipedia articles, and stumbled on theInterstellar travel article. While most of the methods listed there had some degree of detail on how the vehicle got from orbit to another star, onlyProject Orion detailed how the vehicle would get into orbit (and even then it was so insane that it really shouldn't count). My attempts to figure out how the other concepts would get into space led me toSpaceX Starship (back when the main image was ofB4 andS20), and just the idea of a fully reusable rocket made spaceflight my main interest.

Most of my edits are visual edits, though I sometimes use source editing (mainly for template work and removing vandalism). So, sorry in advance for any mistakes I make in source editing. Or elsewhere, for that matter.

I am currently panicking about the results of the2024 election. America was given a choice: Democracy of Dictatorship. A choice between a former prosecuter and a rapist. And Epstein's best friend won every single swing state. He won the popular vote. America has condemned itself to madness. Hopefully we get a chance to make a better decision in four years.

Also, WTF. Cutting NASA's science budget in half?!^[1] I really shouldn't be suprised, and there arefar worse things happening, but this hits hard. I can only hope NASA survives this.

My views on IP Editors

I believe that users should have to create registered accounts to edit Wikipedia. After all, "The majority of vandals are IPs, but they are mainly immature children, usually too young for them to edit Wikipedia" -Iwaqarhashmi. Admittedly, most IPs are constructive, but creating an account isn't hard. Its as easy as clicking "Create Account", setting a username and password, and thats it.

Page protection isn't very effective in practice. Once established, it works great, but it can often take far too long to be added, and isn't usually present for a sufficient period of time.
