Hello there. I started editingWikipedia as an anon in February 2008, and I opened this account the following month. My specialty on Wikipedia is improving sport-related articles, and you can often find me editing pages on my favorite teams and players. Most of my edits are small formatting fixes, including improved reference formatting andManual of Style compliance. You might know me from my history atWikipedia:Featured article candidates, where I once attempted to review all articles on sports that came along. I haven't been as active there lately, but still have an occasional review or two in me. I like to think that my reviews have helped raise the level of recently promoted sportsfeatured articles.
Featured list candidates is another place where you can find me. After pushing some lists tofeatured status, I became a director of the featured list process in early 2011. I frequently close candidates, and am responsible for choosing lists that appear in theToday's featured list section of the Main Page. My skill in writing original prose was not great at first, but has improved over time. I've started numerous articles, some of which have appeared in theDid you know section on the Main Page. A few articles I've written have reachedgood article status, and I was even able to get a couple to becomefeatured. I also have a (little-used) account onWikimedia Commons, which can be foundhere, and clean up vandalism onWikidata when I spot it in articles on my watchlist. The Featured Sound Main Page Proposal Voter Barnstar
I was truly humbled by the overwhelming community support for the recent proposal to place featured sounds on the main page. The proposal closed on Tuesday with 57 people in support and only 2 in opposition.
It should take a few weeks for everything to get coded and tested, and once that is done the community will be presented with a mock up to assess on aesthetic appeal.
Finally, I invite all of you to participate in the featured sounds process itself. Whether you're a performer, an uploader, or just come across a sound file you find top quality, and that meets the featured soundcriteria, you can nominate it atWikipedia:Featured sound candidates.
