I first began contributing to Wikipedia in its early, chaotic years — when articles were half-finished experiments and every edit felt like trailblazing new digital territory. I was drawn in by the idea that ordinary people could build a living, breathing encyclopedia together. I’ve stuck around ever since, through the growing pains, the arguments over commas, and the endless fight against spam, vanity pages, and nonsense.
My focus has always been on maintaining accuracy and neutrality. I enjoy cleaning up messy new pages, deleting cruft that doesn’t belong, and expanding the topics that actually matter — especially those related toWest Virginia, emergency services, and regional history. I’m here because the world deserves reliable information, and I still believe in the mission that hooked me twenty years ago.
Wikipedia has changed a lot since I first started tinkering here — the tools are sharper, the policies more defined — but the spirit of collaboration remains. If you’re new, keep it civil, cite your sources, and remember that an edit war never solved anything.
