    Medical edits

    [edit]

    Hi there,

I’m interested in contributing to the medical pages on Wikipedia. Do you have any recommendations regarding where to start? I’m happy to help wherever there is the most need currently.DataFocused (talk)02:51, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

@DataFocused, there are many areas andWP:MED keeps a list of articles of varying quality. I would suggest you consider your area of interest, rather than medicine broadly, or even just something that piques your interest right now, and then seeing whether there is anything Start or C-classed there. I would suggest you readWP:MEDRS andWP:MEDMOS to get an idea of quality of articles. Then I would suggest introducing yourself atWT:MED, where there is a steady stream of discussion on articles needing improvement.CFCF (talk)03:34, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! I think I’ll start with some Start and C-classed articles. Will also introduce myself atWT:MEDDataFocused (talk)03:46, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, the conclusions seem pretty solid, but just a note that thechiropractic page is using a lot of 15-20 year old reviews. May be worth you or another regular medical editor taking a look.DataFocused (talk)06:31, 1 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

    Medical ultrasound

    [edit]

Hi,In 2015 the pageMedical ultrasonography was renamed toMedical ultrasound. However, that page still describes only medical ultrasonography, which is only a part of medical ultrasound. I propose to rename it back, then create a small new pageMedical ultrasound containing a brief review of all medical ultrasound methods and applications with links toMedical ultrasonography and other pages.Any objections?Ufim (talk)07:26, 5 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I think as long as there is clarity that ultrasonography is a part of ultrasound that would be fine. You could do this by creating a disambiguation page which is linked at the top of the ultrasonography page. I think the reasoning was that this was theWP:COMMONNAME, but agree it is not entirely correct @Ufim.CFCF (talk)10:58, 6 October 2025 (UTC)[reply]
