My main goal is to help increase the knowledge ofvolcanism across Canada. However, I have also put relatively minor contributions into other areas with volcanic activity, including Antarctica, Iceland, Indonesia, Australia and the United States.

Since I created my account on July 2, 2006, I have made over 1,200 pages and over 38,000 edits. Prior to July 17, 2010, my username wasBlack Tusk for a sacred pinnacle of volcanic rock in theGaribaldi Ranges of thePacific Ranges of theCoast Mountains in southwestern British Columbia. I decided to change my username because my main work on Wikipedia is related to volcanology and igneous petrology. Thus,Volcanoguy is more formal and accurate thanBlack Tusk. In fact, I choseBlack Tusk as my username because when I decided to become a user on Wikipedia in 2006 I could not think of a username. So I usedBlack Tusk as a fill in.
