I am fromCanberra, and I created and edited various types of pages, including articles, categories and redirects. My real name is Sebastian, but you can also call me Bas.

Redirects, personal life and edit history

    [edit]

Some of the redirects I created on Wikipedia or helped to create include: theBelconnen Mall redirect page, which does currently redirect toWestfield Belconnen, thanks to me. The reason why I created that redirect is because the name itself is an alternative name of the shopping centre. Another redirect I help to create is the10 Canberra redirect page, which currently redirects toCTC (TV station) because that name is the station's LCN name in Canberra. I also have improved existing redirect targets.

I met then-Australian of the Year,Dylan Alcott on 1 September 2022, at the Jobs and Skills Summit at theParliament House, after being interviewed by theDisability Royal Commission in June that year,[1] hence I am connected to the commission and Alcott, perthe conflict of interest guidelines. I have aCerebral Palsy disability, which doesn't affect my edits to Wikimedia wikis.

I originally started editing Australian television channel articles in October 2018, however did not edit consistently until July/August 2022. I am also interested in improving articles (especially Australian articles) with the best references I can access, such as usingEBSCOhost, Trove,Newspapers.com (via The Wikipedia Library),NewsBank andProQuest to access Australian and NZ newspapers. I have branched out into technology articles from Apple and Samsung (such as theApple Vision Pro, theApple car project and theSamsung Galaxy S24) as I like technology. I edited theAustralian Television Network redirect on 27 August 2022 under a IP address, but quickly logged back in afterwards.

My edit milestones include: My first edit on Wikipedia on 13 October 2018, to theSky News Extra article, addingthe then-new Your Money TV channel, to the info-box of the article. I gained 1,000 edits on Wednesday 21 September 2022. I gained 2,000 edits on 3 December 2022. I gained 3,000 edits on Sunday 15 January 2023. I gained 4,000 edits on 9 March 2023. I gained 5,000 edits on 5 May 2023. I planned to gain 6,000 non-deleted edits by 1 November 2023. I achieved this goal on 31 October 2023, editing my draft articleDraft:1SSS. I achieved 7,000 edits on 7 April 2024, editingTeenage Boss.

This account was previously calledBassie f, because I tried to make a username, back in October 2018, when this account was created, until this account was renamed toTechGeek105 on 1 April 2023. I tried asking to rename this account toBTA-wiki on 26 August 2023, but it was rejected as a business name. BTA stands for Bas Tech Australia, which is myYouTube channel brand currently. I will keep this username for a minimum of 6 months.

I have a global Wikimedia account, so as a result I also contribute to Wikimedia Commons, other language Wikipedia sites including the French Wikipedia and Wikidata.

    To Do/goals

    [edit]
    • Improve articles with no references
    • Create more articles
    • Expand existing articles

My current goal for Wikipedia is to clean up references usingProveIt, on various television and technology articles. I will create drafts using my sandbox.
