University is acensus-designated place (CDP) andunincorporated community inOrange County, Florida, United States, east ofOrlando. The community is centered around theUniversity of Central Florida and includes a location on its south side known asUniversity Park. It is part of theOrlando–Kissimmee–Sanford, Florida Metropolitan Statistical Area. As of 2020, the CDP had a population of 45,284.
The University CDP is located at 28.5900 north, 81.2045 west,[1] or approximately 15 miles (24 km) east ofdowntown Orlando.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 9.4 square miles (24.4 km2), of which 9.1 square miles (23.5 km2) is land and 0.35 square miles (0.9 km2), or 3.50%, is water.[2]
The University CDP is northeast ofUnion Park and north ofAlafaya. The community is reachable bySR 408,SR 434, andSR 50 (Colonial Drive), which forms the CDP's southern edge.
