Ugochukwu Amadi (born May 16, 1997) is an American professionalfootballsafety for theNew Orleans Saints of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theOregon Ducks and was selected by theSeattle Seahawks in the fourth round of the2019 NFL draft. As a senior in 2018, he won theLombardi Award.[1]
Amadi signed with Oregon out ofJohn Overton High School inNashville, Tennessee as a consensus four-starcornerback over numerousPower 5 offers.[2] Amadi played in all 51 games and had 34 starts for the Ducks from 2015 to 2018 and finished with 165 total tackles, 9.5tackles for a loss for 54 yards, threesacks for 16 yards, eightinterceptions for 122 yards and twotouchdowns, 33 passes defended, four forcedfumbles, and two fumble recoveries on defense.[3]

Amadi was selected by theSeattle Seahawks in the fourth round (132nd overall) of the2019 NFL draft.[6]
On August 15, 2022, Amadi was traded to thePhiladelphia Eagles for tight endJ. J. Arcega-Whiteside.[7]
On August 24, 2022, less than 10 days after being traded to Philadelphia, Amadi was traded to theTennessee Titans paired with Philadelphia's 2024 seventh round pick in exchange for Tennessee's 2024 sixth round pick.[8] He was waived on October 31.[9]
On November 3, 2022, Amadi was signed to thepractice squad of theKansas City Chiefs.[10] With the Titans and Chiefs, he appeared in three games in the 2022 season.[11] Amadi became aSuper Bowl champion when the Chiefs defeated the Eagles inSuper Bowl LVII.[12]
On March 7, 2023, Amadi signed with theNew Orleans Saints.[13] He played all 17 games primarily on special teams.[14]
On March 19, 2024, Amadi re-signed with the Saints.[15] He was released on August 27, and re-signed to the practice squad.[16][17] On October 26, Amadi was signed to the active roster.[18] In 11 appearances (5 starts) for the Saints, he recorded 7 pass deflections, 2.0 sacks, and 65 combined tackles.
On March 24, 2025, Amadi re-signed with the Saints on a one-year contract.[19]
