Ubuntu User was a paper magazine that was launched byLinux New Media AG in May 2009.[1][2]
The publication is aimed at users of theUbuntuoperating system and focuses on reviews, community news, how to articles and troubleshooting tips. It also includes aDiscovery Guide aimed at beginners.[1][2]
Ubuntu User is published quarterly. The paper magazine is supported by a website that includes a selection of articles from the magazine available to the public asPDFs, Ubuntu news and freecomputer wallpaper downloads.[3][4][5]
Issue number one consisted of 100 pages (including covers) and in its North American edition had a cover price of US$15.99 andCdn$17.99.[6] Each issue also includes an Ubuntulive CD in the form of aDVD that new users can use to try out Ubuntu or to install it.[3]
Linux New Media is headquartered inMunich, Germany and has offices of its US subsidiary,Linux New Media USA, LLC, inLawrence, Kansas. The company also publishesLinux Magazine,LinuxUser,EasyLinux in German, andLinux Community.[1][3]
The magazine ceased publication after issue 33.
In announcing the launch of the magazine, the company said:

DistroWatch questioned the wisdom of launching a new paper magazine at this point in history:
