Union Sportive du Littoral de Dunkerque (French pronunciation:[ynjɔ̃spɔʁtivdylitɔʁaldədœ̃kɛʁk]) is afootball club based inDunkirk, France. As of the2024–25 season, it competes inLigue 2, having achieved promotion from theChampionnat National in the2022–23 season. The club colours are blue and white, and home matches are played at theStade Marcel-Tribut.
The club was founded in 1909 and have never played in a higher division thanLigue 2. They have twice made it to the semi-finals of theCoupe de France, in 1929, and 2025 and the quarter-finals five times in 1930, 1937, 1968, and 1971.[citation needed]
The club was promoted to Ligue 2 in 2020, when the2019–20 Championnat National season ended prematurely, due to theCOVID-19 pandemic. Dunkerque were second in the table at the time, and were promoted by theFFF executive committee.[3] The club was relegated back to the Championnat National at the conclusion of the2021–22 Ligue 2 season, spending two seasons in the second tier.[4] On 26 May 2023, the club defeated Le Mans FC 2–3 at the MM Arena. This assured second place in the table and secured promotion to Ligue 2 for the2023–24 season after a one-year absence.[citation needed]
