UFC Fight Night: Rodríguez vs. Caceres (also known asUFC Fight Night 92) was amixed martial arts event produced by theUltimate Fighting Championship held on August 6, 2016, atVivint Smart Home Arena inSalt Lake City, Utah.[2][3]
The event was the first that the organization has hosted inUtah.[2]
The promotion previously scheduled an event for Salt Lake City in August 2010 forUFC Live: Jones vs. Matyushenko. However, the event was moved toSan Diego, California due to lower than anticipated ticket sales in the Utah market.[4]
A featherweight bout betweenThe Ultimate Fighter: Latin America featherweight winnerYair Rodríguez andAlex Caceres served as the event headliner.[5][6]
Brad Tavares was very briefly linked to a bout withThales Leites at the event. However, Tavares was forced out of the fight with a rib injury and was replaced byChris Camozzi.[7]
Justine Kish was expected to faceMaryna Moroz at the event. However, Kish pulled out of the bout on July 22 due to a spiral fracture of her finger.[8] She was replaced six days later by promotion newcomerDanielle Taylor.[9]
This was the last UFC event to be promoted byFrank andLorenzo Fertitta.
