The event was expected to be headlined by a middleweight bout between top contendersMichael Bisping andMark Muñoz. However, on September 27 Bisping pulled out of the bout with aneye injury and was replaced by formerUFC Light Heavyweight ChampionLyoto Machida.[4][5]
Tom Watson was expected to faceAlessio Sakara at this event. However, Watson had to pull out due to an injury and was replaced byMagnus Cedenblad.[6] Subsequently, in early October, Cedenblad was forced out of the Sakara bout with an injury and replaced by newcomerNico Musoke.[7]
Paul Taylor was expected to faceAnthony Njokuani at this event. However, Taylor was forced to pull out due to an injury and was replaced byAl Iaquinta.[8] On September 24, Njokuani also pulled out of the event with an injury.[9] Iaquinta eventually facedPiotr Hallmann.[10]
