FormerInvicta FC Bantamweight Champion andUFC Women's Featherweight Championship challengerTonya Evinger was expected to faceMarion Reneau at the event. However, on January 9, it was announced that Evinger was injured and had to pull out of the bout.[4] In turn, Reneau was pulled from the event and rescheduled to face2004 Olympic silver medalist in wrestling and formerUFC Women's Bantamweight Championship challengerSara McMann a week later atUFC on Fox: Emmett vs. Stephens.[5]
A flyweight bout between formerUFC Flyweight Championship challengerRay Borg andBrandon Moreno was expected to take place at this event. However, due to an injury sustained by Moreno, the pairing was delayed and rescheduled to take place atUFC 223.[6]
Humberto Bandenay was scheduled to face promotional newcomerSteven Peterson at the event. However, Bandenay was removed from the event in early February due to an allegedvisa issue and was replaced byBrandon Davis.[7]
