Tyron Hirantha Wijewardene (born 29 August 1961), is a Sri Lankan cricketumpire and formercricketer. He was elected to theInternational Panel of Umpires and Referees as Sri Lanka's second umpire.
As a cricketer, Wijewardene was a left-handedbowler, taking 9 wickets in his 5First-class appearances forSaracens Sports Club in 1990/91. He was also a usefullower orderbatsman, getting one half-century having batted in just 5innings.
Following an early retirement from cricket, he began umpiring and has stood in bothTest cricket andOne Day Internationals; standing in two matches during the2003 Cricket World Cup.
