Omar Eliezer Alonfzo (born August 3, 2003) is aVenezuelan-American professionalbaseballcatcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Alfonzo grew up in bothMinneapolis and inVenezuela.[1] He signed with thePittsburgh Pirates as a free agent in 2019.[2] He made his professional debut in 2021 with theDominican Summer League Pirates and hit .232 with two home runs over 39 games. Alfonzo spent the 2022 season with theFlorida Complex League Pirates and batted .144 over 33 games.

Alfonzo played the 2023 season with the Complez League and also played with theBradenton Marauders, batting .275 with five home runs and 42 RBIs over sixty games.[3] In 2024, he started the season with Bradenton and was promoted to theGreensboro Grasshoppers in August.[4] Over 110 games, he hit .252 with 13 home runs and 46 RBIs.[5] He opened the 2025 season with Greensboro and was promoted to theAltoona Curve during the season.[6][7]

Alfonzo's father,Eliézer Alfonzo, played in MLB for six seasons.[8]

Brandan Bidois (born June 21, 2001) is an Australian professionalbaseballpitcher for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Bidois signed with thePittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in 2019.[9] In 2020, he played with theBrisbane Bandits of theAustralian Baseball League.[10] Bidois made his minor league debut in 2021 with theFlorida Complex League Pirates. He missed the 2022 season due to injury but returned to play in 2023 with theBradenton Marauders. In 2024, he played with theGreensboro Grasshoppers and also appeared in one game for theIndianapolis Indians.

Bidois was eligible for the 2024Rule 5 draft but went unselected.[11] Bidois was a non-roster invitee to 2025spring training and was named to Pittsburgh's Spring Breakout roster.[12] In 2025, he played with Bradenton, Greensboro, theAltoona Curve, and Indianapolis.[13] During the season, he pitched 18 innings in a row without allowing a hit over 11 relief appearances.[14] On November 18, 2025, the Pirates added Bidois to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[15]

Jase Callaway Bowen (born September 2, 2000) is an American professionalbaseballoutfielder who is a free agent.

Bowen attendedCentral Catholic High School inToledo, Ohio.[16] He was drafted by thePittsburgh Pirates in the 11th round of the2019 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with the Pirates rather than playcollege baseball andcollege football atMichigan State University.[17][18][19] He made his professional debut that year with theGulf Coast Pirates.

Bowen did not play in 2020 due to the Minor League Baseball season being cancelled because of theCOVID-19 pandemic. He returned in 2021 to play for theBradenton Marauders and played 2022 with Bradenton and theGreensboro Grasshoppers.[20] After the season, Bowen played in theAustralian Baseball League for theSydney Blue Sox. He started 2023 with Greensboro before being promoted to theAltoona Curve.

He elected free agency on November 6, 2025.[21]

Jack Thomas Brannigan (born March 11, 2001) is an American professionalbaseballthird baseman for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Brannigan attendedMarist High School inChicago, Illinois and playedcollege baseball at theUniversity of Notre Dame.[22] He was atwo-way player at Notre Dame, appearing in games as an infielder andrelief pitcher.[23] In 2021, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theWareham Gatemen of theCape Cod Baseball League.[24]

Brannigan was drafted by thePittsburgh Pirates in the third round of the2022 Major League Baseball draft.[25][26] He signed with the Pirates, and spent his first professional season with theFlorida Complex League Pirates andBradenton Marauders. Brannigan played 2023 with Bradenton and theGreensboro Grasshoppers. After the season, he played in theArizona Fall League.[27]

Brannigan made 59 appearances for the Double-AAltoona Curve in 2025, batting .225/.329/.358 with five home runs, 30 RBI, and nine stolen bases. On November 18, 2025, the Pirates added Brannigan to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[28]

Wilber Bladimir Dotel (born September 25, 2002) is a Dominican professionalbaseballpitcher for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Dotel signed with thePittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in October 2020.[29]

Dotel made 27 appearances for the Double-AAltoona Curve in 2025, posting a 7-9 record and 4.15 ERA with 131 strikeouts across125+23 innings pitched. On November 18, 2025, the Pirates added Dotel to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[30]

Drake Robert Fellows (born March 6, 1998) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Fellows attendedJoliet Catholic Academy inJoliet, Illinois andVanderbilt University, where he playedcollege baseball for theVanderbilt Commodores.[31][32] He was selected by theSan Diego Padres in the sixth round of the2019 Major League Baseball draft.[33] He did not play in 2019 after being diagnosed withnon-hodgkins lymphoma.[34][35] He did not play in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season.[36]

On January 19, 2021, Fellows was traded to thePittsburgh Pirates in a three team trade that also sentDavid Bednar,Omar Cruz,Hudson Head andEndy Rodríguez to the Pirates,Joe Musgrove to the Padres andJoey Lucchesi to theNew York Mets.[37] He made his professional debut with theFlorida Complex League Pirates and theBradenton Marauders, but pitched only11+23 innings due to an elbow injury.[38]

He missed the 2022 season while recovering fromTommy John surgery.[39][35]

Edward Adonis Florentino (born November 11, 2006) is a Dominican professionalbaseballoutfielder in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Florentino signed with thePittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in January 2024.[40] He made his professional debut that year with theDominican Summer League Pirates. He started 2025 with theFlorida Complex League Pirates before being promoted to theBradenton Marauders.[41]

Matthew Teran Fraizer (born January 12, 1998) is an American professionalbaseballoutfielder in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Fraizer attendedClovis North High School inClovis, California.[42] He was drafted by theOakland Athletics in the 38th round of the2016 Major League Baseball Draft but did not sign and played college baseball at theUniversity of Arizona. In 2018, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theOrleans Firebirds of theCape Cod Baseball League.[43] He was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the third round of the2019 MLB draft and signed.[44][45]

Fraizer made his professional debut with theWest Virginia Black Bears, batting .221 over 43 games. He did not play a minor league game in 2020 due to the season being cancelled because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[36] He started 2021 with theGreensboro Grasshoppers before being promoted to theAltoona Curve.[46][47] Over 112 games between the two teams, he slashed .306/.388/.552 with 23 home runs, 68 RBIs, and 15 stolen bases.[48]

Antwone Thyshon Kelly (born September 1, 2003) is anAruban professionalbaseballpitcher for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Kelly signed with thePittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in 2021. He made his professional debut that year with theDominican Summer League Pirates and played the 2022 season with theFlorida Complex League Pirates. Kelly opened the 2023 season in the Complex League before being promoted to theBradenton Marauders near the season's end. In 2024, he spent the season with Bradenton and went 1-6 with a 4.43 ERA and 65 strikeouts over 69 innings.[49]

Kelly opened the 2025 season with theGreensboro Grasshoppers and was promoted to theAltoona Curve in June.[50][51] On November 18, 2025, the Pirates added Kelly to their40-man roster to protect him from theRule 5 draft.[52]

Randy Labaut (born October 1, 1996) is a Cuban professionalbaseballpitcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Labaut was selected by theCleveland Indians in the 35th round, with the 1,060th overall selection, of the2019 Major League Baseball draft.[53] He made his professional debut with the rookie–levelArizona League Indians, recording a 1.74 ERA in 11 games. Labaut did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[54]

He returned to action in 2021 with the Single–ALynchburg Hillcats, posting a 3.09 ERA with 58 strikeouts across 22 appearances.[55] Labaut split the 2022 campaign between the High–ALake County Captains and Double–AAkron RubberDucks. In 38 relief outings split between the two affiliates, he accumulated an 11–2 record and 3.33 ERA with 89 strikeouts across70+13 innings pitched.[56]

Labaut split the 2023 season between Akron and the Triple–AColumbus Clippers, compiling a 3.70 ERA with 51 strikeouts and 2saves across 33 total appearances.[57] He returned to Columbus in 2024, making 36 appearances and registering a 3–6 record and 4.57 ERA with 62 strikeouts over 61 innings of work.[58]

On December 11, 2024, Labaut was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the minor league phase of theRule 5 draft.[59]

Brennan Russell Malone (born September 8, 2000) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher who is a free agent.

Malone attendedPorter Ridge High School inIndian Trail, North Carolina[60] before transferring toIMG Academy inBradenton, Florida for his senior year.[61][62][63] At IMG, he was recorded throwing as high as 97miles per hour.[64] He committed to playcollege baseball at theUniversity of North Carolina.

Malone was drafted by theArizona Diamondbacks in the first round of the2019 Major League Baseball draft, making him one of only three high school pitchers selected in the first round of the 2019 draft.[65][66][67] He signed for $2.2 million.[68][69] After signing, he was assigned to theArizona League Diamondbacks, going 1–2 with a 5.14 ERA over seven innings. He also pitched in one game for theHillsboro Hops at the end of the year.

On January 27, 2020, the Diamondbacks traded Malone andLiover Peguero to thePittsburgh Pirates in exchange forStarling Marte and cash considerations.[70] He did not play a minor league game in 2020 since the season was cancelled due to theCOVID-19 pandemic.[71] He missed a majority of the 2021 season due to a lat injury, and pitched only 14 innings for the year.[72]

He elected free agency on November 6, 2025.[73]

Carlson Timothy Reed (born November 27, 2002) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Reed attendedMarietta High School inMarietta, Georgia and playedcollege baseball at theWest Virginia University. In 2022, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theHarwich Mariners of theCape Cod Baseball League.[74] He was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the fourth round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[75] He was converted into a starting pitcher by the Pirates after pitching out of the bullpen at West Virginia.[76]

Reed made his professional debut with theFlorida Complex League Pirates. He started 2024 with theBradenton Marauders and was promoted to the Greensboro Grasshoppers during the season.

Robert Tyler Samaniego (born January 30, 1999) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher for thePittsburgh Pirates ofMajor League Baseball (MLB).

Samaniego played college baseball at theUniversity of South Alabama. He was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the 15th round of the2021 Major League Baseball draft.[77]

Samaniego split the 2025 season between the rookie-levelFlorida Complex League Pirates, Single-ABradenton Marauders, High-AGreensboro Grasshoppers, and Double-AAltoona Curve; in 30 appearances for the four affiliates, he compiled a 3-3 record and 3.99 ERA with 44 strikeouts and threesaves across38+13 innings pitched. Sanford attendedIndependence High School inFrisco, Texas.[79] He was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the2024 Major League Baseball draft.[80][81]

Sanford signed with the Pirates and made his professional debut in 2025 with theFlorida Complex League Pirates before being promoted to theBradenton Marauders after 20 games.

Samuel James Siani (born December 14, 2000) is an American professionalbaseballoutfielder who is a free agent.

Siani attendedWilliam Penn Charter School inPhiladelphia,Pennsylvania. In 2019, his senior year, he hit .457 with 25 RBIs and 16 stolen bases.[82] Siani was named the 2019 Pennsylvania High School Player of the Year by Perfect Game.[83] He committed to playcollege baseball atDuke University.[84]

Siani was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates with the 37th overall pick in the2019 Major League Baseball draft.[85][86] He signed for $2.15 million and was assigned to theRookie-levelGulf Coast League Pirates.[87] Over 39 games, he batted .241 with three doubles, nine RBIs, and five stolen bases.[88] He did not play a minor league game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season caused by theCOVID-19 pandemic. To begin the 2021 season, he was assigned to theBradenton Marauders of theLow-A Southeast.[89] In mid-July, he was placed on theinjured list, and returned in early September.[90] Over 62 games with Bradenton, Sianislashed .215/.376/.390 with eight home runs and 35 RBIs.[91]

Siani was assigned to theGreensboro Grasshoppers of theHigh-ASouth Atlantic League for the 2022 season.[92] Over 82 games, he batted .201 with seven home runs, 28 RBIs, and 25 stolen bases.[93] He returned to Greensboro for the 2023 season and hit .231 with nine home runs, 48 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases over 99 games.[94] Siani split the 2024 season between Greensboro and theAltoona Curve, hitting .265 with nine home runs, 48 RBIs, and 16 stolen bases. After the season, he was assigned to play in theArizona Fall League with theScottsdale Scorpions.[95] Siani was assigned to Altoona to open the 2025 season and was promoted to theIndianapolis Indians of theTriple-AInternational League in mid-August.[96]

He elected free agency on November 6, 2025.[97]

Siani's older brother,Mike, plays in MLB for theSt. Louis Cardinals.[98]

Samuel Stafura (born November 15, 2004) is an American professionalbaseballshortstop in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Stafura grew up inCortlandt Manor, New York and attendedWalter Panas High School 2019–2023.[99] He was named the New York Gatorade Baseball Player of the Year as a senior.[100] Stafura committed to playcollege baseball atClemson.[101]

Stafura was selected by theCincinnati Reds with the 43rd overall pick in the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[102] He signed with the team on July 17, 2023, and received an over-slot signing bonus of $2.497 million.[103]

Stafura made his professional debut after signing with theArizona Complex League Reds, appearing in 12 games. He opened the 2024 season with the Arizona Complex League Reds and was promoted after 15 games to theDaytona Tortugas, with whom he ended the year.[104] Over 92 games between both teams, Stafura hit .270 with eight home runs, 54 RBIs, and 31 stolen bases. He was assigned back to Daytona to open the 2025 season.[105]

On July 30, 2025, Stafura,Taylor Rogers, and cash considerations were traded to thePittsburgh Pirates in exchange for third basemanKe'Bryan Hayes.[106] The Pirates assigned him to theBradenton Marauders.[107]

Blake Andrew Townsend (born 5 April 2001) is an Australian professionalbaseballpitcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Townsend signed with theSeattle Mariners as an international free agent on 19 June 2018.[108] He made his professional debut in 2019 with the rookie-levelArizona League Mariners. Townsend did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[109]

Townsend returned to action in 2021 with the rookie-levelArizona Complex League Mariners and High-AEverett AquaSox, posting an 0-1 record and 4.11 ERA with 26 strikeouts over five games (three starts).[110] He split the 2022 campaign between the ACL Mariners, the Single-AModesto Nuts, Everett, and the Triple-ATacoma Rainiers. In 20 appearances for the four affiliates, Townsend accumulated a 2-2 record and 4.60 ERA with 37 strikeouts across29+13 innings pitched.[111]

In 2023, Townsend made 35 appearances out of thebullpen for Modesto, registering a 4-3 record and 3.38 ERA with 55 strikeouts and onesave across 48 innings of work.[112] He began the 2024 season with Everett, recording a 2.45 ERA with 30 strikeouts in 28 appearances. Townsend was released by the Mariners organization on 5 August 2024.[113]

On 21 August 2024, Townsend signed a minor league contract with thePittsburgh Pirates organization.[114] He made five appearances down the stretch for the Double-AAltoona Curve, posting a 1-0 record and 2.00 ERA with six strikeouts over nine innings of work. Townsend elected free agency following the season on 4 November.[115]

On 12 February 2025, Townsend re-signed with the Pirates organization on a new minor league contract.

Townsend represented theAustralia national baseball team in the2023 World Baseball Classic,[116] pitching in Australia's game againstJapan.[117]

Jaden Chance Woods (born February 1, 2002) is an American professionalbaseballpitcher in thePittsburgh Pirates organization.

Woods attendedHouston County High School inWarner Robins, Georgia. He began playing baseball when he was a freshman in high school after the school did not offer his preferred sport,lacrosse.[118] He playedcollege baseball at theUniversity of Georgia for theGeorgia Bulldogs. In 2022, he playedcollegiate summer baseball with theHarwich Mariners of theCape Cod Baseball League.[119] As a junior in 2023, he started ten games and went 3-3 with a 5.77 ERA.[120] After the season, Woods was selected by thePittsburgh Pirates in the seventh round of the2023 Major League Baseball draft.[121]

Woods signed with the Pirates and made his professional debut with theBradenton Marauders, pitching to a 3.14 ERA over14+13 innings. To open the 2024 season, Woods was assigned to theGreensboro Grasshoppers before he was promoted to theAltoona Curve in June.[122][123] Over 39 relief appearances between the two teams, he posted a 4-3 record, a 3.75 ERA, and 74 strikeouts over sixty innings.[124] He was assigned to Altoona to open the 2025 season.[125] He was assigned to play in theArizona Fall League with theSalt River Rafters after the season.[126]

Eddy Yean (born June 25, 2001) is a Dominican professionalbaseballpitcher who is a free agent.

The Nationals signed Yean as an international amateur free agent out of theDominican Republic in July 2017, giving him a $100,000 signing bonus. After beginning his professional career in theDominican Summer League in 2018, Yean advanced toClass A Short Season ball in 2019, pitching for theAuburn Doubledays. In 2020,MLB Pipeline rated Yean as the Nationals' sixth-best prospect overall and forecast that he would continue rising as a prospect.[127]

Yean pitches right-handed, releasing the ball from a three-quarters arm slot. He employs atwo-seam fastball up to 97 miles per hour (156 km/h) as his primary pitch.[128] He also throws aslider and achangeup.[129]

On December 24, 2020, Yean along withWil Crowe were traded to thePittsburgh Pirates in exchange forJosh Bell.[130] He elected free agency on November 6, 2025.[131]
