Turkish Statistical Institute (commonly known asTurkStat;Turkish:Türkiye İstatistik Kurumu or TÜİK) is theTurkishgovernment agency commissioned with producing officialstatistics on Turkey, its population, resources, economy, society, and culture.[1] It was founded in 1926 and headquartered inAnkara. Formerly named as theState Institute of Statistics (Devlet İstatistik Enstitüsü (DİE)), the institute was renamed as the Turkish Statistical Institute on November 18, 2005.
