TheOttoman Empire was represented by one athlete,Aleko Mulos, at the1908 Summer Olympics inLondon,United Kingdom.[1][2] During the Olympics, the Ottoman Empire was referred to asTurkey. It was the first recognized appearance of the Ottoman State, though at least two athletes fromSmyrna had previously competed forGreece in 1896.[3]
