Finland was represented at theEurovision Song Contest 1993 with the song "Tule luo", composed by Matti Puurtinen, with lyrics by Jukka Saarinen, and performed byKatri Helena. The Finnish participating broadcaster,Yleisradio (Yle), selected its entry in the contest through a national final. This was Katri Helena's second Eurovision appearance, 14 years after representFinland in 1979.
Yleisradio (Yle) held the national final at its television studios inHelsinki, hosted by Ari Korvola. Four performers took part, each singing two songs, with the winner chosen by voting from eleven regional juries.[1]

On the night of the final Katri Helena performed 17th in the running order, followingSlovenia and precedingBosnia and Herzegovina. At the close of voting "Tule luo" had received 20 points (the highest an 8 fromGreece), placing Finland 17th of the 25 entries.[2] The Finnish jury awarded its 12 points toNorway.[3]
