Tuban Regency (Javanese:ꦏꦧꦸꦥꦠꦺꦤ꧀ꦠꦸꦧꦤ꧀) is aregency inthe East Java province ofIndonesia. TheDutch name of the regency is 'Toeban'. It covers a land area of 1,839.94 sq. km, and had a population of 1,118,464 at the 2010 Census[3] and 1,198,012 at the 2020 Census;[4] the official estimate as of mid-2023 was 1,258,368 (comprising 630,258 males and 628,110 females).[2] The administrative centre is the coastal town ofTuban.

The Regency is bordered to the north by theJava Sea, east byLamongan Regency, south byBojonegoro Regency, and west byBlora Regency andRembang Regency (both inCentral Java Province). The regency is located in a strategic area, on the border ofEast Java withCentral Java, passed by the main highway (Jalan Nasional Daendels) along the north coast of Java (here calledJalur Pantai Utara orJalur Pantura). In ancient times, Tuban was the main port ofMajapahit and was a center of Islamic spreading by Walisongo.

Tuban Regency consists of twentydistricts (kecamatan), tabulated below with their areas and their population totals from the 2010 Census[3] and the 2020 Census,[4] together with the official estimates as of mid-2023.[2] The table also includes the locations of the district administrative centres, the number ofadministrative villages in each district (totaling 311 ruraldesa and 17 urbankelurahan), and their postal codes.
