Tsekone Ridge, also calledTsekone Peak andBlack Knight Cone, is an isolatedridge on theBig Raven Plateau of theTahltan Highland in northwesternBritish Columbia, Canada. It is located southeast ofTelegraph Creek at the north side ofMount Edziza Provincial Park betweenEve Cone andMount Edziza.[1]
The name of this ridge was officially adopted on January 2, 1980, after having been submitted by theGeological Survey of Canada. It isTahltan in origin and translates tostone fire.[1]
Tsekone Ridge is asubglacial mound that formed in thePleistocene epoch when this area was buried beneath glacial ice during the lastice age. It is associated with theMount Edziza volcanic complex which in turn forms part of theNorthern Cordilleran Volcanic Province.[2]
