TheTrophées UNFP du football are a number of awards given annually by theUnion Nationale des Footballeurs Professionnels (UNFP) to players playing in France'sLigue 1,Ligue 2, andDivision 1 Féminine, as well as to managers and referees. The most prestigious award is theLigue 1 Player of the Year. Created in 1988 under the nameOscars du football, they were renamed in 2004 after a complaint by theAcademy Awards committee. The ceremony has been broadcast live onCanal+ since 1994.[1]







Unlike the other awards, the best goal of the year is chosen by the public.[6]
