Troféu João Saldanha is an award given by theBrazilian newspaperLance! to the winner of the second half of theCampeonato Brasileiro Série A.[1] The trophy honorsJoão Saldanha, who was a journalist and head coach, deceased on July 12, 1990, during that year'sWorld Cup.[1] The award was created in 2004.[1]
