Trigo Limpio (Spanish pronunciation:[ˈtɾiɣoˈlimpjo]) were a Spanish musicaltrio popular in Spain in the 1970s and 1980s. It was originally formed byAmaya Saizar [es], Iñaki de Pablo and Luis Carlos Gil. In Spanish, the expressionliterally means clean wheat, figuratively someone who is honest and transparent.
The band representedTelevisión Española in thesixth edition of theOTIFestival 1977 with the song "Rómpeme, mátame" getting the fourth place. Three years later, they represented Spain in theEurovision Song Contest 1980 with the entry "Quédate esta noche". By the time of their Eurovision participation, Amaya Saizar had been replaced by Patricia Fernández.
Patricia Fernández died on 27 September 2016, at the age of 62.[1] Luis Carlos Gil died on 11 November 2023, at the age of 72.[2]
